China is in the process of becoming the World Super power. They recognize what they have done in the past will not get them to this stage, hence the subtle changes they have been making. DBFT is a legitimate consensus protocol in theory. The question is whether or not they will be able to implement successfully.

I see his point on innovation and he is correct in a sense that a lot of their economic growth has been on paper. However, if this current trend continues with US growth stagnation and political turmoil throughout the west, China's rise to the top is inevitable IMO. Only time will tell I suppose
