DJT is a Japanese language learning thread for people interested in the language, anime, manga, visual novels, light novels and Japanese video games. Japanese speakers learning English are welcome, too.
Got two decks. One is Core6k, another is basically this plus words I get from Genki, but in other direction (English to Japanese). The second one takes more time and is harder with the same number of reps. What might be a reason for it?

You're fucking retarded

Anyone here passed the JLPT as a self learner? About two years ago I used to know about 2k words and 1k kanji then I got busy and stopped. Now I'm wondering how long it would take to learn necessary grammar, listening exercises etc to pass let's say N4/N3.
Carson Thompson
Watch 16 hours of anime for a month and you'll pass n4/n3
At least I haven't come across any Then again I haven't really looked that hard either

Talking about VNs, are the better sites than Nyya for them?
Justin Ross
AB if you have access, although it's only better for older stuff

If you ever wanted to practice production, specifically 罵詈雑言, I recommend limiting twitch to japanese only and finding a game you have played. One streamer playing vermintide 2 had a decent mic, but his bad positioning, completely ignoring blocking, dodging and heavy attacks took an iron will.
Highly recommended

You stick to VNs because there are VN hosting sites?
Youtube gaming seems to have pretty good Japanese streamers. I recommend checking it out over twitch for Japs

Manga is a pain in the ass to read offline because I haven't found a single offline reader that works as I want it to. The only one I've seen mentioned here is honeyview and that is still quite annoying

the default windows photo viewer is pretty dang I tell ya!

I use Honeview, sometimes Irfanview. Takes a while to get used to, and I can see how it could be better (specially on having galleries/remembering directories), but overall I think you can quickly get used to it. You see, I've been typing the letter x on my keyboard to produce the letter "i" for a couple months now (the actual i key broke) and when I used a normal keyboard a few days ago all my words were all wrxtten lxke thxs, such is the level of adaptation to the new retard setup I have reached. Humans are creatures of habit, read a couple volumes and you'll be fluent in Honeyview usage in no time, even if it sucks.

MangaMeeya 7.4 is good, i switched to it from honeyview3.
I had terrible yellow fever, dated a qt Cantonese speaking girl, now it's gone. I don't think these racial preferences tend to last desu

For me it was going to a college with quite a few Asian exchange students and realizing that none of them look as good as all the models you see on the internet. Kind of obvious but it's just something I could never really consider since I don't meet Asians much.
