After I'm done with studying in my shithole of a country I plan on moving somewhere else and Sweden sounds like the perfect place from what I've heard about it and the language looks easy to learn, but is it really as good as people make it out to be?
Is Sweden really as good as it looks like?
this is so sad, abba, play dancing queen
It's not bad, better than most countries. Just avoid Malmö. And Stockholm.
Depends.
when it comes to opportunities and jobs, it is better than your shithole.
However, there are probably small things which you will absolutely hate depending on if you are an actual balkanite.
First things, the weather sucks, you wakeup 7 am and it is pinch dark, you go to work in complete darkness, when you are finished it is dark. No sun absolutely nowhere.
It is cold.
Our vegetables are imported from far fucking away, it is really hard to find you a nice fresh pepper or tomato. The tomato is just of 3 sorts.
It is not in swedish culture to casually take a beer or sit in the bar, you need to be prorperly dressed for that and many ppl are cheap who avoids going to the bar as much as they can.
The people are nice and civilized though, you won't have to go through bullshit in traffic, having to argue with balkan hot heads or deal with other gypsy shit you deal with down there.
I do find one issue with swedes, it is that they avoid showing what they feel about you and they just come off as cold. Small talk is really hard here.
Other than that, life is fucking great here but I do know some couple of people who miss the little small things from down and actually went back.
It's alright, meh in some regions and amazing in others. If you're willing to learn the language and are European you will have many opportunities to live a very comfy and good life. Swedes can be tough to befriend but once you make friends with them it's often for life, which is nice.
if you're moving to a Nordick country why pick Sweden?
Education is free in Norway for foreigners, I don't believe that's the case in Sweden (only nordicks can study for free there if I remember correctly). Norway has higher living cost as a downside but much higher wages on the upside. Norway is also cooler in general and has le ebin fjords.
Denmark is also cool and less cucked. I'm not saying Sweden is bad, far from it, but just would never pick it if I had the choice of going elsewhere in Scandinavia.
Yeah norway and denmark are better choices too I would say
The part about fresh vegetables sounds like a minor inconvenience, but everything else sounds right up my alley, I'm not really the type of person to go to bars casually or talk with strangers anyways.
I'm really tired of life here in the balkans, there's always something to complain about, everyone's rude and I just want to live someplace where I can take it easy. Eh, it's more of a personal preference than anything. I know less about the other Nordic countries and Sweden's always been something I had in mind because of small things like ABBA or IKEA.
I hope you come here we could use good immigrants instead of arabs
You do have frozen vegetables though, right?
Nutritionally speaking, they're almost the same (granted they almost always feel a bit mushy and not as tasty but still....).
It's cool dude, if you like Sweden, good luck, don't let others put you down and do what you can to move there, just make sure you're making the right choice and that you won't regret it later down the road. I myself am moving to Japan soon too.
Sweden should be fun specially if you're outside Stockholm and Malmo... I don't know how Gothenburg is nowadays but I liked it when I visited (though this was back in 2008).
Some places I'd recommend are Kiruna and Lulea
We have plenty of fresh vegetables, I honestly have no idea what that guy is talking about.
Even during winter?
These stereotypes about small talk are wrong. Get a swede drunk and they're just like any other person from anywhere around the world.
t. lived in malmer and studied there for 4 years
but Malmo is full of foreigners lol
more than half of malmers were swedes during my time
>mfw a Swede acknowledges the difference between Arabs and Bulgarians
I'm thinking of living somewhere near Stockholm so I can always go there if I need something. Is there any specific reason I should avoif it or is it because of all the tourists there?
I've wanted to go to Japan my whole life and I even began studying the language, but I think it'll be easier for me to adapt to Sweden or some other nearby country than going to Japan and having to deal with getting a job as a foreigner and all that other jazz. I hope everything goes well with you!
Stockholm at least to me was absolutely beautiful in the "main" areas and pretty above average everywhere else, and I've been to most major European cities
>Is there any specific reason I should avoif it or is it because of all the tourists there?
Just cuz it's the capital and saturated with foreigners so you're just another one, and I think Swedes have a bad impression of most of their foreigners (rightly so I'd say).
I also don't like the mindset in Stockholm, but that's highly subjective, I don't like the "ubranite" vibe I got from most of the people there (if you catch my drift). Again, what's important is that you're happy with your choice. Stockholm is still a really nice city and I'm sure you'll have a great time. It should also be easier to find jobs there and to have visa issues sorted out (though I don't think this is a problem for your since you're European?).
Thanks for your wishes and Good luck moving m8, I hope you find what you're looking for there!
I get what you mean. I guess I'll aim for someplace near the outskirts of it, but there's still a year or two till I can actually start planning moving there. Thanks for the support!
>I think Swedes have a bad impression of most of their foreigners (rightly so I'd say)
Not quite. Before the refugee crisis there was a bigger difference between ethnic swedes and other europeans. But now so many non whites have moved here that if a bulgarian guy come along most will just think "oh hey, another guy from europe and not an arab, nice".
Well, as for European migrants, which ones are there in Sweden?
Germans and Poles, mostly?
Finns are our largest immigrant group i think. We have a lot of poles also. Don't think I've ever met a german who lived here permanently.
>be poor third worlder
>look up some list online where easiest to immigrate to and live on welfare all life
>sweden number 1
>"that's the place for me!!!"
fuck off
lol poles are everywhere in Europe, I heard there's lots of them in Iceland too
That's the thing, you need to get him drunk
Then you will like it here, it is a simple life, everything is nice. Some people are competetive and likes the balkan weather in which case, Sweden will bore you to death.
Welcome, i had a bulgarian prof with phd in radio lecturing discrete mathematics. He was the most based nigga to be.
>Bulgaria
Fuck off, gypsy.
>being mad about it
