It's not

Our mainland is 1/3 of a continent, so I'd say so!

Let’s just keep pretending it’s not just so it doesn’t make us look bad.

"no"

There are no American troops in Mexico, they can't legally be here. They aren't allowed inside our borders by our constitution.

Germany is such a cuck

>legally

Shut the FUCK up or we'll march on Mexico City again

Yes.

we already own you faggot

All this overseas deployment is mostly unwelcome charity. It only ensures that the countries we're currently occupying remain "liberal democracies" i.e countries governed by special interests with citizens who are free to buy and slave away. It's easier and more profitable to just sell our "friends" last year's equipment. The British and French had empires. Empire would be what the British had.
>wake up in Colonial Egypt

If you whittled our overseas presence down to Poland, Italy, Japan, Chile, and Panama, kept alliances with Anglo states strong, and kept deals to allow our ships to harbor in would-be neutral states, it would accomplish the same thing. Even then the resources of the American homeland and our being surrounded by oceans on both sides make an overseas empire seem overkill. We don't need the rest of the world. We have what the Nazis would have called Lebensraum. We're just actively fucking ourselves over now.

There are NO American troops in Mexico
You can't be here for ANY reason

It's all leftover framework from the cold war desu

Mexico has always been a joke, you know that right? It's a bandit run shithole with zero notions of republican government. The vast majority of people are vegetable-like in their simplicity and passiveness. Criminals walk all over the constitution, your president sucks off cartel overlords. Whenever the CIA feels like doing something in Mexico, they just do it. We could have colonized everything down to Panama if liberals didn't cuck us out of it. The border is only there to keep you out of the US.

I don't give a fuck about your stupid little rant. You are simply not inside our fucking borders, this is a fact. Period.

Does this mean we still have an Empire due to various countries around the world (Canada, Germany, various others) hosting British military bases?

And CIA is not a part of your military, stupid brainlet.

America has an imperial ideology, namely the export of market economics and liberal democracy primarily through the vehicle of supporting national self-determination.

However, America doesn't have much in the way of imperial appetites. It doesn't fuel its economy on the back on an empire, for example. It mostly does imperial things as a result of pure ideology or as part of a greater geopolitical milieu to prevent a hegemonic power from rising in Eurasia that can directly threaten its security.

So the answer is, "It's complicated"

God I wish that was me.
Why did you post this America, I'm sad now...

>foreign entity uses violence and subversion to influence the affairs of your nation in its favor
>its leadership doesn't officially fall under the the Department of Defense, so it's not the same as being foreign military

whatever you say chico

Oh fuck.

It's confirmed that the only things CIA did in Mexico during the cold war was watching over Trotsky and KGB agents in Mexico City.
CIA fucked all over Latin America installing puppet governments everywhere, but they pretty much left Mexico alone. The documents have been declassified, brainlet.

The left Mexico so alone, in fact, that the fucking Cuban revolution was planned from fucking Coyoacan, in Mexico City.

Besides the inherent absurdity of an intelligence agency being transparent about its activities, let's consider other things: What is there to invade? American firms have carte blanche to build factories and use cheap labor in Mexico without an invasion. It's already a paradise for capitalist interests. I've just told you that the Mexican federal government and their police are non-entities who serve the people who pay them, not the Mexican body politic. You have no republican government. It's Mad Max thunderdome.

>ok my original x statement was proven wrong
>but what about y
Shut the fuck up

It boils down to this: you are in a state of extraordinary denial about the state of your country.

You want me to think:
>"Mexico is a proud nation that does not cower to foreign interests! Item 99 dash C of our constitutional framework does blah blah"

But the reality is so different. You're captives of your own criminals and international capitalists. There is no great regime to roll tanks towards and topple in Mexico. The absence of law, order, and functional government makes these things null. If Uncle Sam wants to send in a combat brigade of helicopters and Marines into Mexico to blow something up because said thing is a clear threat to its national security, it will do so to very little controversy. Sending the circus shitshow that is a US Army sustainment force into Mexico would probably be interpreted as a charitable enterprise in the year 2018, not an invasion.
