What the fuck are you talking about? I feel like you can think of any negative thing and tack on, "why do Americans do this?" Some do and some don't just like everywhere else

how can they go on living on paycheck to paycheck even if they're not working at minimum wage
where do they spend it all?

Gas
Rent
Utilities
Food
Student loan debt

Because our economy and our entire culture is built on buying cheap, overpriced retarded shit. If people stop spending, that lowers demand for stupid shit which lowers profits for corporations which lowers economic growth.

Some people see their parent, guardian, friend, or whatever doing it and just follow along. Some may not have the money due to living above their means. I havent saved anything this year, but still in school and paying off debt so no money

I have a shitty job but I've managed to save 15k euros in 3 years

but it's true though.

i spend all my money on booze and women and bullshit so fuckoff alright

that doesnt make his statement false, plenty of americans save money and plenty dont

yeah and if you take both and put them in a jar and mix it up the average comes out to be dismal.

Overpriced non essential goods and services.

some people just spend their money, is that okay with you? even my parents were making something like $160k/yr (big money in the midwest) when I was growing up and somehow had only $1.5k in savings. Doesnt include retirement shit like roth ira and 401k but they just bought shit all the time.

Kike financial slavery.

lol saving is gay *dabs and buys another 55" tv*

Lack of fiscal literacy.
Those that do save will frequently stick their savings inside bank savings accounts, which do not keep pace with inflation.
Those that do invest do not do so consistently. Every year you miss your IRA, you can never really recoup.

High inflation (CPI says 2% but it's really 10%), and banks offer super low interest rates.

The chosen people intentionally made it difficult to save.

they always buy out and think they can win the 1v5

Just buy less shit you don't really need

Inflation still eats up savings.

It's more of a Boomer thing. Back in the late 80s throughout the 90s until the mid-2000s consumer culture was at its peak. They bought stupid shit such as McMansions, knick-knacks, beanie babies and pet rocks. Also, that whole American Ego thing made people here want to consume more simply because we believed we were more privileged than other countries.

It was in a good time of American history after the cold war, the Persian Gulf war, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and during the Clinton administration. Advertisements and group mentally had a massive influence on consumers encouraging them to consume more. People didn't save, they used their credit cards too much, they bought too much, and ended up in thousands of dollars of debt.

That shit happened to my parents in the 90s and early 2000s. Once 2008 came around and shit hit the fan they realized they needed to stop buying stupid shit and save.

I've noticed among Millenials and Zoomers that they save more and are wiser with their money. I've read many articles about how it's harder to sell to people within those ages which is good.

I've saved nearly $85,000 in the last 10 years simply because I've haven't spent all of my money on garbage and I would like to see more Americans do the same.
