People who think that climate change is merely a direct impact on humanity via some "sea level change" or "rising temperatures by a few degrees" are painfully ignorant of both our place in the world as a species and how delicate the balance of our ecosystems are.
Even something as simple sounding as a sea otter population dying off can mean an explosion of the local sea anemones population. These sea anemones consume kelp, kelp in the kelp forests those sea otters used to live and help control the balance. Kelp forests are a MASSIVE CO2 sink. If the sea anemone population is allowed to explode, they will destroy those kelp forests which will in turn create a huge amount of excess CO2 back into the environment.
Ecosystems aren't things to be fucked around with lightly, desu.

Many different reasons but climate change certainly doesn't help. Birds slightly tweaking migration timings, which was something I read about being observed last year, can have down the line impacts on insect populations.
Kind of like spawning fish, I guess. There are different animals dependent upon the predictable timing of the migration and spawning to consume the eggs and go on to be eaten by something else or go somewhere else to breed. There are seabirds which rely on some of these fish who dump millions of eggs in the far north. These seabirds also impact the population of the small water insects/nymphs. If certain elements are out of sync, it has a bit of a "butterfly effect" thing going on.
Back to the birds, their migration patterns are also used by different trees for seed distribution.
