Also IDK if it's the same in Iceland but there's a major pop culture phenomenon about college. We have an entire film genre based on college being a right-of-passage where it's all parties and getting laid when in reality that's like 5% of the actual college experience. So us burgers are duped into thinking we HAVE to go to college right out of high school and have tons of sex because that's what movies and TV told us is normal.

If I was 18, that would be different, since people who started at that age are not considered mature students. Being 21, I am in a different situation, since that is a bit later than many people start.

Most people start uni at 20 or 21 here. Way more than 19 or 18. About a third of my class is over 25. I have a lot of friends that are in their late 20s.

if people find out that you are 21 it should be no problem, but recognize that given the drinking age is 21 you will be used as an alcohol plug.
