You'd be able to read books in the original language. You'd get involved in their culture and etc.
As someone learning a second language for the first time at 23, I'm glad it's actually a challenge. Don't get me wrong sometimes I wish it was easier but the challenge adds to the feeling of accomplishment and all that stuff.
Plus you speak Portuguese and English, two very useful languages. You could probably learn Spanish in 6-12 months to a high degree then Italian or something.
Guess we have a different definition on "knowledge".
I was thinking of universal facts, not local customs. Like "the earth is round", which should be available in pretty much all languages without having to learn a new one.
That said, I am learning a third language, I was just looking for some motivation.

I don't know if you're into philosophy but there are a lot of resources that simply aren't translated, or at least not translated well. A lot of things can get lost in translation, a lot of meaning, you really need to speak many languages to get it.
