>Have many years of Spanish in high school
>can't remember a single word
>see anime once
>start learning japanese and an entire new writing system
why do americans do this
Have many years of Spanish in high school
ola comos estas
anglophones better know what it's like to learn a language
It's almost as if there is something called "motivation" that can affect your learning results...
>Why do people succeed more at doing something they want to do rather than something their institutions of learning force them to do
bien :DD tu?
mental illness
literally no one who doesn't work at a restaurant speaks japanese in the us, whereas tens of millions speak spanish
Why do you even care about what language do Americans learn?
Todavia entiendo español perfectamente pero mi acento está mal y mi ortografía está peor
escribes bien))
seguro que si lo intentas, puedes aprender la pronunciación
yo tambien
nunca he tenido que usarlo asi q mi comprension es horrible como resultado
>many years
I would call 2 years many years, and even some schools offer french or german instead of spanish
But how many of you can speak french or german?
Probable next to 0, our school taught us German + German culture, and all it did is my siblings say Danke and guten morgan randomly for the past 10 years.
I just love it when people make statements and don't elucidate why they are true! I man you just pulled that out of your ass so you can bitch about america for the 20th time today I bet. Get a life you pathetic virgin
Because people who learn Nip to read anime/manga/whatever have a real and personal motivation for doing so, while Spanish/French/German classes here just hammer the languages in and give you no good reason to care besides "muh resume filler"
The mutt is right though. Americans fought for the wrong side and that's why the world is ruined now.
t. Jow Forums cuck who sucks up to the american alt-right
I remember bufanda
>the JOOS XDDD ITS THA JOOS
I guess fun doesn't exist
t. weeb nonce
To pronounce Spanish better, stop using a yambic rhythm when you speak (the "stressed" sylables) and don't open your mouth so much. I tell you this because I see that these are characteristics of English pronounciation
>which language should I learn
>the language of those fine brown people who mugged me once who wouldn't be here if not for good law enforcement
>or the language of mai waifu
choices
馬鹿かお前?
Rude
If you dont want to sound rude; place “better” in front of “know”. The sentence it’s current form sounds like a demand. The new form is what you want convey in a way that makes a bit more sense.
>Have many years of Spanish in high school
Not even true
Retarded mohammad
>not even true
i thought spanish was mandatory in USA
what foreign languages do you have
I think that's better as opposed to all these goddamn Spanglish fucks butchering two languages.
Spanglish chicanos are the worse kind of people, topped only by Puerto Ricans
Spanish is common, but there's also French, German, and Latin. Sometimes Chinese, Russian, and Italian as well
Japanese is interesting.
Na senpai, I took French in Jr High and German in High School. I didn't take Spanish because I already fluently speak it, not like these pseudo-bilingual to speak Spanglish and use Anglicized words like "Parquear" or "Probacion". Anybody who does that should get sent to a labor camp.
Why doesnt USA make spanish a co-official language in Florida and california? In europe many countries have co-official or regionally official languages
"interesting" is very relative, and of course learning an indo-european language is way easier than learning an asiatic language
theres also shitloads of great books wrote in spain during the "Golden Century of Spanish literature"
but anime is more interesting than books i guess
>learning a language that isn't spoken in a single developed country
why would any retard want to do this?
god is there anything more disgusting than this map?
its amazing to think about what the americans have lost through a weak will
>>Have many years of Spanish in high school
>>can't remember a single word
seriously? why? are you not spanish?
i'm pretty sure spain is more developed than japan
There is a town in California that is purely Mexican that had something on a ballot to try and make Spanish the official language of the town but it didn't pass because a lot of Mexicans don't put in the time to educate their kids and teach them Spanish plus these little fucks learn English in school and end up communicating with siblings in English and not Spanish so next thing you know you have a language barrier between parents, grandparents and children.
This exacerbates the identity crisis for some, because language is also a part of the cultural identity.
Technically Spanish should be a co-official language because of the treaty after the war with Mexico but they don't follow that shit to the letter and the US doesn't have official languages even though gringos love to tell people to speak English.
P.S. : Cubans think they're white and the law granting them amnesty if they can touch US soil made them think they were above every other Spanish speaking immigrant and so they vote against their own interests.
The joke is on them, Obama took that shit away, so now they're on equal footing and up shit creek without a paddle.
Despite Cubans' Argetine-like arrogance, they're still better than Puerto Ricans
go back to your cave
nah but its more developed than latinamerica
theres a city in Florida were 96% of the population use mainly spanish
there was a big story about a black girl that went to a drive-through and couldnt order because the girl didnt speak english
i think florida has the most "real" spanish speakers, not chicanos that can only say "hola"
lol no
their gdp is only slightly above eastern europe and it will probably be surpassed in a few years by poland
very sad
The reddit meme
> Cubans
> Real Spanish
Nah familia, Caribbean and I would say top half of South America speak like as if Reggaeton was a language. Canary Islands Spanish is like a reformed Cuban Spanish, they butcher words way way less.
yeah i always felt cuban was pretty close to the canarian accent, i think cuban is quite soothing too but the central american accents have a very negative low class latino connotation in spain.
>start learning japanese and an entire new writing system
"Start" is the keyword here, it's not like they actually manage to learn it at all
They "learn" it to tell their geeky quirky friends about it because it's so quirky and geeky
americans have a choice to take whatever language is provided dumb spic
i know many who have taken swedish :^) or german
>WE WUZ GERMANZ N SHIET XD
youre fuckin anglo. chirst. at least a lot of america actually is german
Porque estas mad?
He visto gente aquí escribir peor, de momento vas bastante bien.
I took Spanish in high school but I didn’t like it, when we hear Spanish, we are exposed to the nasally Central American dialects. I don’t like the way it sounds.
I’m learning French now tho in college, this is fun
When you ask a question is "por qué", "porque" is answer
Because spanish isnt useful for anything here except talking to criminals and landscapers. We’ve also cucked all of europe into speaking english.
Retuve Espanol y estoy aprendiendo la idiomia.
>forced to learn Spanish
>choose to learn Japanese
> Canary Islands Spanish is like a reformed Cuban Spanish
That's because a lot of Canarians migrated to the Caribbean which helped form their accent.
I had German in school for 6 years. Can't really speak it, I estimate that I know the meaning of 2-3k words, no ability to translate other languages to German though.
The teacher was godawful. Her favorite torture method was to make us learn poems of German grammar rules.
it's not mandatory
ok.
>We’ve also cucked all of europe into speaking english.
nothing important is said in spanish
>retuve
wha? retained spanish ?
thats a shame, it should be mandatory to teach european spanish
here we are taught british english btw, but most of what people online learn is from using the language not from school. School just sets a base of knowledge
I didn't think it was rude.
I took French in high school, here's what I remember
J'etudie francais a l'eceole
J'ai m'appelle user et j'ai un garcon
Fruits de mars
Because spanish is a shitty earsore language. Inb4 dumb anglo, I'm french.
