slightly better Britain and Ireland in pretty much every way except for not having tesco pork pies

they are more like us than uk desu

do you also get huge taxes like them and plastic bags that cost 50 cents
i dont think so
americans are more "YEAH KILL EM" but aussies are like chill

kind of in how our city layout ended up because of lots of land and late settlement but in attitudes/social rules/mannerisms/institutions we're way closer to english people than Americans
We have decently high taxes but not western europe level and they're surprisingly low for what we get out of them. There was recently a huge uproar from boomers because they made shops sell reusable bags for 10c instead of free plastic bags
most stuffs just expensive because of imports and high wages

sounds based
how much of the basic food does australia have to import from other countries? what kind of crops grow in australia

fuck off Tyrone

yes we sure love our basketball and american football

We make enough basic food like grains, fruits, veggies and a shit ton of livestock to export lots with way less subsidisation than basically every other first world county. But its more the majority of consumer goods which aren't fresh like that have to be imported and everybody along the way gets paid at least $20 an hour

I think we can grow virtually everything here in some part of the country. Different grains all over the interior, tropical fruits in QLD, Mediterranean crops in NSW, WA and SA. And more colder climate crops in Tasmania and cooler parts of Vic. I'd imagine more imported food here is for Chinese or other ethnic diets that no one makes here.

>$20 an hour
thats absolutelly crazy
a normal pay here is 7€ an hour for someone with that type of job
do you guys preffer american TV or british TV? besides your own australian TV channels ofc

To me it's the "meh" parts of the UK and US mixed into one underwhelming package

Seems fairly split. UK has documentaries and more interesting programmes, or weird old stuff to fill slots. America has the big budget TV series and movies.

UK has no hot parts, how can it be "parts of the UK" ? are the cities alike ?
true, i was surprised when i went to britain that british people dont have "british dubs" of american films
here we have a hard time trying to stomach new worlder accents

It seems more like a strange land rather with strange people who go to shitpost ocassionally.

I've lived in the US before, its composed of a handful of amazing cities and the remainder is pretty bland. Its also bordering on being a 3rd world country when you factor in the massive inequality.

I prefer Australia to live in. More laid back and good lifestlye/ weather

I think other Anglos can understand Americans fairly easily.

Comparing Australia to American or the UK doesn't really work the way people think it does.

sure, its not about understanding, its about being annoyed by the accent or not
fair enough

yeah its pretty good, can't even imagine the hell wage slaving in a country without a high minimum wage and strong unions/labour laws.
I generally prefer British shows especially if its a comedy but America just shits out so much stuff nobody can compete. Australian media is just shit because all our talent leaves and all thats left is shitty free to air tv for boomers.

well to be fair australia doesnt have much population, being in australian TV isnt as profitable as moving to USA like that Jefferies guy

yeah thats true for the top of every field i guess
the funny thing is he was never famous here and hasn't lived here for 20 years but still has a stronger accent than most people

>but still has a stronger accent than most people
It's part of his act/persona, user.

yeah i know. I wonder what his accent is when he's not putting it on
