Was watching footage of the summit last night, and I couldn’t help but wonder why, for example, the Japanese Prime Minster was wearing a European suit instead of traditional Formal Japanese robes? The Saudi Arabian prince was wearing the traditional middle eastern garments because he’s from the Middle East and not Europe obviously. Why are the leaders from other nations wearing suits that came from European design?

Unfortunately everyone looks nice in a suit so o don't see it changing. It's a real shame I'd love to see traditional stuff being worn, especially at weddings and stuff. Makes me feel bad that chinese people or whatever wear suits instead of what their ancestors would have worn

They do have something called the Zhongshan Suit. Its still used but I think the European one looks a lot better.

Nah, I think you're right. I did some googling and this one just seems like a more modern Zhongshan suit style. I think both Chinese and Indians wear it, or maybe Indians stole it

It's not, the suit itself is a tradition from Victorian England while the tie is French originating in the cravat, it is no less an adoption on the part pf Swedes as it would be for Japanese.
We do, the guayabera however is only appropiate for hot climate while the full dress charro outfit requires you to actually be a bona fide charro to wear
