France's main problem is that their economy is not competitive in a united Europe and they don't have the money to finance all the social gibs. They are unwilling to change their system, unable to make more money because the tax levels are already sky high and their dept is pilling every year. So every president promises them all and everything and then tries to juggle the money so no one notices. This time President Macron tried to disguise tax hikes on fuel with a thinly veiled bullshit story about ecology, so the poorfags that need their cars revolt.

Can't really fix that. The problem is France is trying to compete with the German economy on equal terms with the Euro, and it is not working. Before the Euro, France devalued it's currency, by this artificially pimped their competitiveness (and fucked over their pensioners and their savings) every couple years and kept things steady. They can't do that anymore.
