Talking to boomers about climate change

>talking to boomers about climate change
>"YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT CHINA AND INDIA??"

are they seriously that low IQ?

But what about China and India? They are responsible for 90% of the world's pollution but for some reason it's our fault. I hate you millennial retards so much. Enjoy your soy avacado paste you faggot.

Lmao are you pretending to be retarded

You still have a higher emission per capita. Even though you decreased it from last year. Still higher.

China and India will continue to increase emissions because they are developing so asking them to not develop doesn't make any sense.

China and India are not stupid, they are investing in a lot of renewable energy.

The argument has always been that the US and EU are not doing enough because the onus is on them because they are already developed. Unfair? Probably. I can't change that.

The US is rapidly adopting renewables whether boomers like it or not. My state is already at ~95%

India consumes less resources than California or something like that. The onus is on us to pave the way forward for clean technology

how's the $/kWh?

Also like he said USA and EU are developed whereas India and China are still developing. What they are doing now is what we were doing a few decades ago, it's unfair to expect them to shut everything down. Only way forward is for usa, EU, India and China to come together and create cleaner and more eco-friendly technology. Honestly these 4 are the only regions that will truly matter when it comes to taking humanity forward.

It really depends on the region. Washington state makes so much extra electricity from our hydro dams that we sell a lot of it to California. There's a town in east WA that has massive bitcoin mining facilities because the electricity is Iceland-tier.

Per capita means jack shit. Population control is a part of the fight against climate change. The only thing that matters is how much goes into the atmosphere.

Based

India isn't anywhere near industrialized, once it takes the role as the world's factory away from China you'll see a massive increase in pollution. Then once India is developed, the manufacturing role will go to the Africans or some other SEA country.

son, i don't know if you realized this but if you calculate the historical CO2 contributions by countries in the last 160 years the USA is at 27%, EU at 25% China at 11% and India at 3%. not even mentioning the huge differences in populations.

>historical
who gives a fuck, if you care about emissions you best convince china to fuck off and listen

>Per capita means jack shit
Not if your country has over 320 million people or your continent has 740 million

it gives you perspective that blaming developing nations for CO2 emissions after the fact that developed nations have already advanced their economies at the expense of pumping out CO2 during that time period is quite hypocritical.

the ultimate, i've already passed that stage and have an advanced society, the rest of you are fucked and shouldn't industrialize to catch up because you are harming the planet now!

It's literally either the fourth/fifth largest (depending on source)in terms of industrial output.

alright, fuck the nature I'll be dead anyway

>people bring up "greenhouse gas emissions per capita" like we should all be living like Chinese insect people in overcrowded cities and the world isn't currentally overpopulated and we should all have population density like Canada so we can live better lives instead of make a group of rich people more money

Then start funding their welfare. It's either that or let them develop.

i too have resigned to that fate. luckily for you and I, we live up north and have lots of land that could use the extra warmth =)

youre an idiot. the US military is the single largest emitter of fossil fuels, itsa fact

Based boomer

>Becomes more developed
>uses more resources
>destroys the earth
>B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-BUT CHINA BUILT A SOLAR PANEL!

Still nothing compared to China despite being similar or more in population

>let's stop climate change so the environment remains predictable and doesn't cause any widescale societal upheavels that would inconvenience politicians and corporations

Attached: soy.png (630x384, 190K)

wut? i get the line of thought with the first 3 greentexts but the last one doesn't register. what does china building a solar panel have to do with anything?

They have the advantage of not making the same mistakes that we did plus access to cleaner tech. The only way forward is working together to build a greener tomorrow

>why do cold countries have more greenhouse emissions per capita than temperate and tropical countries

Attached: 1514369895809.jpg (1066x600, 68K)

Because of their history, the way their governments are structured and when they opened their economies to the world. China opened doors to foreign trade in 70's and India in the 90's. What they have achieved in the short amount of time is pretty amazing.

why does america all of a sudden hate china? it happened just recently

Attached: 15435181304020.jpg (450x600, 41K)

that was the point of the Paris Agreement but Trump and a few other governments gave the dumbed down tl;dr "we'd be giving them money away for free!!!"
at the end of the day, boomers and uninformed people ruin everything no matter their nationality

are you fucking kidding me?

what a lame attempt that was. the only reason solar power is cheaper these days is because China is continuously pumping out pv cells.

China and India are at a position where they can adopt renewable energy at an earlier time in their development when compared to developed nations and their history of development. And they are doing it because they know it will only get worse if they don't during their development.

Yeah that's exactly what I am saying. They have access to better tech and can learn from our mistakes. Expecting them to shutdown all their industries is stupid and unfair.

?

boludo, I...

Whitoids are pathetic retards, more news at 9.

You think I don't know we have a fairly high GHG emmission? I literally said in my post that there's no borders to stupidity. Should I call every leaf poster ignorant because they live in le oil sands cunt even tho they might be aware of the environmental damage?
On a somewhat related note, the government just introduced a brand new carbon tax for fuels

>Expecting them to shutdown all their industries is stupid and unfair.
If it was unrelated to solar pv maybe but dumping chemicals in the ocean so you can sell clothes on amazon isn't exactly noble as you are trying to make it out to be.

My point wasn't to single out your country but to prove that the Paris Accord was nothing more than virtue signalling by politicians. The West would have given away billions of dollars in transfer payments to India and China for literally no benefit.

As far as I know, it's actually money lending. Those countries are expected to pay back down the line. And even if they weren't, would you prefer to keep the money and be drag down by the ever increasing coal fired power demand of India and China?
Developing economies just can't afford getting rid of fossil while growing without foreign financing, that's like stepping on the gas and cutting your brake line at the same time.

>YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT CHINA AND INDIA
what about them

well obviously, they aren't perfect.
The US uses more plastic bags than China or India BUT guess what - at least 90% of the pollution in water sources from plastic bags comes from China and India.

I'll find my source for this but yeah, no one is deluded enough to think China and India are developing just fine.
They are investing into more coal powered plants as we speak because they can't just uproot their whole infrastructure for renewables just like that.
But like I said before, they ARE investing into renewable tech and quite a lot at that too you'd find.

Recently the EU said that they would cut down emissions drastically by 2030 and rely mostly on renewable energy. Majority of the comments were all about how it should have been done earlier because they CAN but just don't want to because short term profits. It's unfair that the onus is on developed nations but really, it makes some sense.

As for the people taht cry about western nations giving money to developing nations - has there been a single council or group of people overseeing where that money goes on ground zero? Surely these countries aren't just giving money just like that right? Because then they deserve to get their money wasted like that wtf
