Not even close. The main and traditionally only ingredience needed are rye flour and rye malt and you can't really substitute them with anything else.
If you want to taste what it is like go find finish style rye bread and chew it until enzymes in your saliva start breaking down the starches and it starts to taste sweet, then eat a spoonful of syrup and wash it down with cream

Ok. The sausage meat in this isn't that much seasoned. Salt and pepper, maybe marjoram and rosemary and what not. Little breadcrumbs or porridge for filling, as usual. If you know how to do it, whisking the minced fatty meat with cold cream would work well for the meat dumplings in this too. And when you use carrots, turnips, rutabagas, cabbage and onions for the broth you will get close to the flavours that we are used to.
