I think it's interesting how we are similar in some ways but also opposite in some other ways, for example germans are said to be very honest and up front, while japanese are known to be polite and very roundabout.
Still wish I had a japanese gf though.

I see in Japs is that they're polite, but you don't really know if it's genuine or not. Probably genuine, but its like talking to a salesman: you don't know if he's just saying that shit because you're talking to him.

in terms of punctuality (which is often attributed to german culture) i have to admit that japaense perfected it. their trains are always on time while our local public transport doesn't go one day without delays due to inane reasons

This is generally true for the public sector. Private sector can really be hell.
We have a lot of automation and unemployment is lowered by having more people work but with less hours. After 8 hours the quality of your work decreases a lot anyway.
