Why are all the houses exactly the same?

boomer dream*

FTFY

In this day and age, the whole suburb, car, and house paradigm is seen as outdated, ugly, and soulless. People today want comfy, dense towns

Because it's a post-WW2 planned suburb.
It's completely soulless. There is no history. No culture. No real architecture.

Everybody gets a cheap cardboard house and exactly the same pool/garage setup and that's that.
No public transportation, either, because that's c*mmunism. You must own a car to get around here. That's how you get to all the restaurants and businesses, which are in their own allocated district. Did I forget to mention that all the restaurants are fast food joints, and that all the businesses are chain businesses as well? Each with a massive dedicated parking lot, too.

Ah, the American dream.

Imagine living in a downtown apartment, waking up to your lungs burning and having trouble breathing. You get to the window and realize your entire street is covered in CS Gas and smoke. While assholes burn and destroy everything

places in cities are outrageously expensive and small

The suburbs came about because people wanted to have big families. Who the fuck would want to raise a big family in a cramped city apartment?

I'll take the occasional riot every now and then if it means having social interaction in my life.

Imagine being so anti-social and autistic that you insist everyone and everything be at least 10 minutes driving distance away from your oversized cheap cardboard house.

Cardboard houses aren't much better, mate.

>social interaction in my life.
You sound butthurt af. I bet you’d be no different if you were living in a Manhattan skyrise apartment. You’d be right here, shitposting just like you are now.

Not exactly. A big reason for the suburbs was because of the huge influx of wealth Americans had after WW2.
You had a lot of formerly poor people who just wanted to feel rich, and so this led to a big demand for mass ownership of personal automobiles, mass production of houses, pools, and driveways.
It's actually quite pathetic, because suburbians are basically poor/middle class people who front as wealthy individuals. Yet, behind that thin layer of cardboard, it's just desperate consumerism.

I wouldn't want to live in a skyrise apartment, either.

Hong Kong level density is absolute garbage, too. I think the Dutch and French flats are perfect, because they're not overly cramped, but at the same time, everything is there for you. You don't need a car to get everywhere.

No. That’s bs. The original intent of the suburbs was for question quick, cheap, affordable housing for all of the GIs coming home wanting to have a big family right away. That’s exactly what happened. Ever heard of the baby boom?

I also forgot to mention that suburbs also developed because white people wanted to segregate themselves away from blacks.

They were brainwashed into thinking that having a decent public transportation system would allow black people to take the bus or train to their neighborhoods, commit crimes, and then take the bus/train back home.

That's not in Europe

Yeah, I agree with everything you're saying but it's not the only reason for suburbs springing up. The post-war suburbs have a number of underlying causes behind them.

>French flats
Have you ever been IN a French flat? No AC, paper thin walls, small as shit, and expensive af. I have a French friend, and I’ve been in her downtown apartment before.

Looks comfy, I'd rather live in a smaller one tbqh like the communities around where Iive but that still looks nice

thats some tourist trap though, no one lives in places like that, they are glorified theme parks for asian and american tourists

The primary purpose was for quick, cheap housing. Developers knew that the GIs coming home wanted to have a lot of kids, so they planned for it. And it worked and they made a fuck load of money

It's the opposite of comfy, imo. Streets are too wide, everything is too sprawled. Everything is a copy-paste of everything else.

It's the exact same reason why I find Soviet commieblocks to be depressing and soulless. Except in the American case, it's due to excessive consumerism/capitalism while the Soviets were excessively socialist.

THIS is comfy, though.

>millions drained out of your bank account yearly just so you can sleep and wash your ass
>comfy
you really are a naive child
living in cities is for egomaniacal social ladder climbing wave slaves. it's not enjoyable for most people.

Maybe your friend didn't take care of her house. Also AC's are pretty cheap. You can get a pretty decent window-mounted AC for under $150.

>competing for parking spots
>living near a noise ass bridge filled with traffic
>comfy
Kek

Yes, living in the city is more expensive, but generally speaking, people who live in cities make more.

>Maybe your friend didn't take care of her house
What are you talking about? It was a flat that she was renting. You can’t just alter apartments, you don’t own them. You can’t soundproof thin walls. Their windows don’t open up and down, it was side by side. You can’t use a window AC unit anyways...

>bridges are noisy
What are you talking about? The bridge is pretty far away from the houses in the photo. It only appears near cause it's massive. But you seriously can't hear the traffic on it.
I don't think you've ever lived/been in a city before.

They make more cause they pay more
user are you retarded?

How is what I said retarded?
People who live in cities make more money on average, which tends to balance out the higher cost of living

You spend all of that “extra” money paying for rent for a small room

I’ve been in many major cities around the world. Major cities are all noisy.

24 hours a day- ambulance sirens, cars honking, trash vehicles emptying dumpsters...

There is people who really lives in these old house and it would be damn nice and cozy if it wasn't for the fireworks.

they also work more hours and are held to a really high standard of morality and conduct. it's the bugman life.

I'd rather be a bugman than a soulless boomer living in a deteriorated suburb with third world infrastructure.

Then go live in your utopia downtown, overpriced, undersized, noisy, cramped apartment.

Don't forget the periodic firecrackers from the melanin enriched individuals settling their assorted disputes.

And that's why ameriburbs are shit. Its fast food houses.

No one implied it was

There are different types of suburbs. Poors live in the ones like in OP.

these are more middle class

Jesus it's like your architects couldn't decide which material to use.

>hmmmmm do I want to use plywood cardboard or do I want to go with the fake brick?

That’s real brick moron.

It's a facade. Only the outermost layer is brick. The inside is fake plywood cardboard.

What’s your point. Do you know how much that same house would cost if it was 100% brick?

>builds house out of cheap materials
>"What's your point."

No, I'm not a real estate expert. I couldn't tell you how much that house would cost now, let alone if it was built completely differently.

The only thing I do know is that I'd rather live in a proper house than a mass produced plywood piece of cardboard for a home.

Where will you go live in a proper house? You know, this is just how new houses are built today, not only in the US, but europe too, Canada, Australia, and many other places.

>not living in a rural beach community with zero pollution and no niggers
Plebs

It’s bs when burgers make threads and bitch about suburbs, but when questioned why they won’t move to a city apartment they say “because it’s too expensive”. No shit, they suck,

Fuck up, you prick. I live in a shithole similar to pic related and I would take an American suburb any day. Barely any European gets to live in a nice, little, historical street unless they have money coming out of their ass. Cunt.

Based and redpilled

Fuck you, stupid bastard.

Baked and gaypilled

Gay and retarded

Nah but if you tried hard in school and you're not thick, then you'll live somewhere nicer than that. People who live in places like that stab their mates over £20 bags of ket

Forgot pic. Not everyone lives in really picturesque houses like obviously because there are so many of them. However, at least in European towns and cities, there is some history and culture. There are shittonnes of victorian and even georgian houses in the across the UK, and countless more cottages in the countryside. The shitthole posted by the other anglo are just hovels built for failures.

hmmm

muh cars

That's Quebec City. I actually walked down that street when I was on vacation, I'm pretty sure.

how many fucking cocks do you inhale daily? holy fuck

Looks like Quebec City

That's because it is.

I can pretty much smell the spray-on tan and fake tits just from this picture

sounds comfy bro. I hate living in a bumfuck useless town with 24/7 stormy rainy weather and you have to travel 500km just to see a target or big w.

the waterfront houses could have potentially been extremely comfy if they werent mass produced pieces of shit and 95% of the non waterfront houses werent there and were nature or something
imagine being a kid and going over to your friend house on a kayak or something, having the qt neighbour girl/grils in your class in their bikinis, swimming to the nearby shops and walking in all wet in your swim gear but the shop owners dont care because its a small neighbourhood and everyone knows everyone

>all of this used to be a beautiful luscious forest

>In this day and age, the whole suburb, car, and house paradigm is seen as outdated, ugly, and soulless
Nothing wrong with it per se, it's just these clone burbs that are insane
