Self employed master race thread:

>Only work when you actually need money, not on a 9-5 salary from now until the grave.

>Take time off whenever it suits you.

>Never have to work for a shithead boss for longer than one project.

>Never get taken for granted.

>Treated like an equal, not an underling.

>Paid more for similar hours because contractors are treated like wizards.

>Work from home.

Why wagecuck when you can go solo?

>bragging about work unironically

if your parents were too stupid to get your a trust fund you're probably their low iq offspring

With freelancing, you're always working. You never have time off because you can't afford not to be on the clock.

You forgot
>Spend months trying to find a job that lasts for 1 week

>taking the hating wagecucks meme seriously
you are too impressionable to be on the internet, take a break

I have been trying this out for a bit and its a hell of a lot of work but its also way better in every other way outside of money. Get ready to be broke as fuck.

What do you do? Code? Write for blog? Manage websites? Online business?
I really want to start being self employed, thinking about going the eceleb route: youtube, twitch, patreon, etc.

lol when people say they are a freelance whatever, it just means they are unemployed at the moment.

>unironically bragging about being a spoiled man-child

the state of Jow Forums I swear

Its a double edged sword, and the costs/benefits are different for everyone. I was self-employeed and was making ~35k a year. It was a construction gig, low overhead but not very lucrative.

I closed my business and took a "wage slave" job making ~41k and I'm happier there.

>Guaranteed two days off a week
>Paid Time off
>Not responsible for all my taxes/SS/Medicare
>No need for Liability insurance
>Around people more

I was spending a third of my income paying all the insurance and taxes that I was responsible for. and I was working 6days a week in the summer cause I was doing construction and would work maybe 2 or 3 days a week from Nov-Mar cause winter.

I have more stability, pay less out and have more free time during the nice months of the year.

Also I still do side stuff, all totally off the radar and for cash only, if I want to.

cool thread bro. thinking about getting into IT-consulting this or next semester. 3 potential clients so far, one of them is my current boss lol, was his idea actually. other two i gotta be more persistent about.. anyone got experience with this? i live in germany, will the commies in the finanzamt regulate me to death?

I think about something like this also. i wonder how much money those youtube phonk djs with the "trappin in [wherever]" videos make from jewtube ad revenue, and if i could make it. but then i remember that it's foolish to go into music for the sole purpose of making money, besides, i think that ryan celsius guy and a few others seem to have kind of a monopoly on that shit

My current path right now is Indie game development in combination with steemit / Dlive. I got a chunk of crypto to keep things afloat and about 20 years of industry game development skill. I have basically become a NEET but its something I always wanted to do.

I'm broke as hell outside of my crypto though. The Dlive space is completely untapped for a streaming service. You will be going up against streamers who can barely speak english or even form sentences. Any streamers with a tiny bit of talent will rule that fucking place with an iron fist as far as I can tell.

I charge 70 $ hour for web design work, I could work 3 days per month and live. If I work any more than that is purely for ambition.

>Dlive
Didn't know that one, is it related to DTube or is the similar naming a coincidence? I've been looking at alot of alternative social media sites, and making accounts. Made some videos earlier this year but I'm having trouble not procrastinating for months.

Its a different dap on the same blockchain. DLive completely wrecks Dtube. And Dlive devs are actively searching for decent streamers to join the platform. They seem to lean towards facecam users.

My monthly living cost in $600 dollars (my own apartment + food + gas + elecricity etc) I make that in 2-3 days freelancing.

What do you make for a living? Web business?

Then what's your budget for food/drink with friends, vacations, car, clothing, retirement, etc? You must live a very boring life.

>You must live a very boring life.

Pretty doable if you get addicted to an MMO or something. Those games make it possible to enjoy yourself while essentially ignoring the rest of the world.

They make you enjoy wasting your life away. MMO video games are worse than heroin.

Not true, you still socialize and you still have to use your brain. Its just not something you value but its still something someone else may value.

When someone can enjoy their existence that is not wasted life. Enjoying life is more important than seeking out how to be a wage cuck with no enjoyment.

Heroin is pretty much slow suicide and you become violent like a fucking caged animal if you cant get your next hit.
