we did, first we baptized then, after that many Germans settled in the east and the Wends got assimilated into being German

especially during the expulsions from WW2, many German refugees settled in Lusatia

it was just formed because there were three sons who all had to get a part of the heritage because of Frankish heritage laws

in the end it was absorbed into the HRE and France conquered most of it during the middle ages, as most of the area was French speaking anyway

Yes, Lotharingia was basically the homeland of the (Salian) Franks. That's why both West-Francia and East-Francia wanted it so badly.
