I partially agree with you brazilanon, on the one hand we can all agree that eastern europe does not deserve to be labeled as “first world” and, in fact, it isn’t. On the other, we cannot classify them as third world. Why, you ask? Well, essentially when you talk about a third world country you usually indicate those countries where the government either does not exist or it is just a facade, and the so called “constitution” is of the semantic type, meaning that it is just a tool used by the governing party to carry out their political agenda of authocratic power and the collection of wealth among the members. Forthermore, no rights are recognised to the members of the politi, they are seen as means to an end, the latter being the treatment of a person as a tool to accomplish something, such as the enrichment of the governing party or as cannon fodder in their personal wars.
Lastly, an almost permanent state of civil war plagues the country, caused by multiple factions trying to acquire control (for themselves,of course).
Having said this, we can see that the countries you listed are by no mean close to a third world’s prominent characteristics.
Plus, they are also under the suprevision of internation and most importantly supranational organisations, such as the EU, who helps their members in times of need with money and specialised personnel.
Moving on to Brazil, I certainly wouldn’t classify it ad a third world country. Yes, violence is rampant and income inequality might be among the most inbalanced for a civilised country, but this does not mean that the institutions aren’t doing anything about it. Plus, as you have showed in the hart you posted, Brazil is capable of maitaining a rather stable economy by itself.
So, in conclusion, we must reflect on the meaning of “third world”, as it implies deep economical and socio-political distress that cuminates in the result of total stoppage of the system.
