it isn't because centralized oracles (with an optional decentralized network as chainlink does) is nothing new and doesn't give smart contract platforms anything they can't already do.

Chainlink is no hype coin, it will be used by companies and staked. Normies will jump in once they see the staking rewards and flood linkpool to stake them.
