You need to pass the Civil Service Examination. If you were previously an SK member or you graduated with latin honors, you don't have to take the exam and just apply for eligibility.

Also its highly recommended that you have connections.
Either you will be contractual and get shit salary with no benefits or play the corruption game and accept bribes.

you have to pay a lot of money indeed. This is just Indonesia, executions in developed countries are definitely more expensive.

It's just that death penalty is much more humane the way I see it. You inflict more psychological damage to a prisoner on life-sentence/solitary confinement. And people that usually served their sentence having experienced the latter never comes out "normal".

It really depends on how you value life, could a system be implemented that once proven guilty you will be given a choice between death penalty or life sentence/ with a chance for rehabilitation.
How id be treated during life sentence is also huge factor, is it complete isolation, could I see my family and friends. Too many things to think about friend.
