What's crazy is the level of sophistication this system has. They thought of almost every angle for over a decade then brought their idea to life in the form of this code. This 'thing' does so much more than the few things we generally discuss here (currency, 'smart contracts', distributed hosting) while also having the potential of doing so much more than blockchain ever could. Things we don't discuss here because it's obvious blockchain can't handle it.

The issue is people understanding the gossip 'consensus' model and the DHT. Because it's not really consensus when you sign every action you do and you are always accountable for your actions. Nobody needs to agree when we all already know for sure based on our personal chain. Good luck trying to be a bad actor. This is why the Agent Centric approach is so powerful.

No they didn't. They knew that what they were doing was better than crypto. But there was an issue. They needed to get people to buy their tokens to support the public hosting of holo apps (dApps). Without a central utility token there would be no incentive to upload or host an app on the Holo Network using your HoloPort or PC. The sale of token allows them to fund the launch of their Hosting Service while also getting the tokens into the hands of the public.

It's essentially no different than what EOS did or what TRX is doing. But in this case, instead of exchanging your ERC tokens for another "Crypto", you exchange it for HoloFuel which is token running on their network.
