Why would I want to ask you anything?
What's your view about the soviets
dunno, thought you might want to
beat the germans, which is good, but also did katyń, which is bad
don't think that they were evil monsters though, just regular people who also suffered very much during the war
What is the most delicious regional food from there?
kluski śląskie aka. silesian dumplings
they're not exactly delicious, but we don't have other foods
is it poor compared to Poznan/Wroclaw?
ever thought about moving to another place?
no, in fact people in poznań and wrocław earn less money than here
the only place with significantly higher average wages is warsaw, but i'd rather stay here, since we have mountains and hills (as opposed to masovia's boring flatlands) and my family lives here
thanks, have some more:
what area in poland is considered to be an absolute shithole by Polish standards?
What party did you vote for?
Do you think that Poland has a bright future?
Is your county richer or poorer than the Polish average?
>what area in poland is considered to be an absolute shithole by Polish standards?
I think that the areas around Rzeszów (south-eastern part of the country, bordering Slovakia and Ukraine) and around Olsztyn (north-eastern part, former East Prussia, bordering Kaliningrad oblast) are considered to be the biggest shitholes. They're the most polluted, or the least populated, or the most desolate, or the ones with the lowest average wages and worst perspectives compared to other regions.
>What party did you vote for?
I voted for PiS, I like their 500+ incentive that encourages Poles to have more children, but I'm sick and tired of them making enemies everywhere. They're antagonizing the Germans, the Ukrainians, the Russians, the Jews, basically everyone. The last time everybody hated us didn't exactly end well for Poland, so I think that I'm going to vote for another party the next time around.
>Do you think that Poland has a bright future?
Economically it's doing much better than it used to, thanks to the EU and its free trade mostly, but the demographic problems are going to be a huge burden. I don't think that my generation will be able to receive pensions or retire early, unless the country brings in millions of immigrants.
It's a bit above averagee, it's considered to be one of the wealthier regions by Polish standards.
how are the coal mines?
interesting
They provide employment to a significant part of the local population. The mines themselves aren't a problem, they supprt the region, the coal isn't either, as long as its used in factories that have pollution filters (most of them do nowadays).
Unfortunately most private households here use that shit to heat ther homes in winter, and these households of course don't have filters. The smog is really bad in winter. The region is quite hilly and mountainous, so that shit stays in one place for weeks on end and won't drift off. It slowly kills older people and people with asthma. During the summer months it's okay though, since people obviously don't heat their homes then.
t.hanks
tell us some difference of your region and others
for example
>northern France is inbred beer drinker, southern is arrogant cunts who drink pastis
Older people here speak a dialect of polish called silesian, their pronounciation is a bit different. During communist times the government resettled a lot of people and encouraged everyone to speak in one dialect, so old Polish dialects like the Greater Polish one or the one from the Kresy died out and nobody speaks them anymore. The Silesian one is one of the few that survived.
Also, people in the rest of Poland say that we're coal niggers, since there's a lot of coal mining going on here.
In the southern parts of the region many people identify as Gorals. Górals are a "hill folk" of people who used to dwell in the mountains and tend to sheep and other animals. Their dialect is a mix of polish and slovak, and their ancestors migrated here from the Balkans during the middle ages and started integrating with Poles.
Are you Silesian??
Well, yes
What do you think about Lithuania?
Used to be friends with Poland, now not so much
when are you giving it back?
How does it feel?
to whom? the austrians?
never
what do you mean?
Best area and worst area in Poland?
Can you give your opinion on neighboring cunts?
>best area
warsaw: it has the highest wages, the most shops, the highest buildings
>worst area
probably warmińsko-mazurskie (former east-prussia, area bordering kaliningrad)
>Can you give your opinion on neighboring cunts?
czech republic: arrogant and convinced that they're something better. it's true, partly, they earn more money than poles and their hdi is a bit higher, but i don't think that their superiority complex is justified
slovakia: own a lot of the tatras, speak a similar language, i went their with my class during a school trip. i hagve no opinion about them otherwise
wanna get Extraflags?
Used to have them, but I'd rather stay anonymous
You go ahead though, nothing wrong with extra flags
Częstochowa, aglomeration, or Podbeskidzie?
What's your opinion on the proposal of making a new voivodeship with Częstochowa at the center.
>t. from łódzkie
Bielsko-Biała aglomeration, so Podbeskidzie I guess.
>What's your opinion on the proposal of making a new voivodeship with Częstochowa at the center.
Don't really care. Bielsko-Biała used to have its own voivodeship during commie times, now it's been merged with Katowice. It's not so bad. I don't think that changing the voivodeship borders would change much.
Are there any old Deutschfags left?
Nah. There are still some in Opolskie voivodeship, the one to the west of here, though. Though there were never really a lot of them here to begin with, compared to what is now Opolskie.
I have bolish benis too XD
>don't think that they were evil monsters though, just regular people who also suffered very much during the war
wow, a based, not butthurt polack on here. What a nice surprise
looks delicious to me desu
>the Jews
dude, PiS is sucking jewish dick so loud we can hear it here
What's the best food there?
How does coal taste like?
...
I'm from Opolskie and the g*rman minority is a meme created to get gibs from hans.
All those high percent counties are just villages
Do you speak the Silesian language?
Wir kommen bald, keine Sorge
Deutsch?
The Slavic Silesian language
The only real regional food here are the silesian dumplings, which I posted earlier. I don't like them that much. I prefer pizza and roast chicken.
Hehe.
No, I speak standard polish in everyday life. Most people here do, except for older generations. My aunt and her part of the family speak silesian, though.
Most poles think like that nowadays.
a polish fren of mine always reference herself with german culture
>my german side
she always say, how accurate is this?
where would you recommend me for a wk stay?
I love nature, culture
I avoid big cities and shopping shit
not on Jow Forums apparently
Maybe not on Jow Forums
Pszpsz? Pswzesce domszehe psweszemssce
Ebin. :-DDDDDDDDDD
True.
I don't know, most Poles here say that they're Polish. In Silesia, the area where I'm from, many families were mixed, and one half of the family would decide that they're German after the war and go there, the other half would decide that they're Polish patriots and stay in post-war Poland. This was the case with my grandpa's family. Mosy Poles don't think that they're German, desu, it would be stupid to think so.
>wk stay
If you don't like big cities then visit Mazowsze, where all the lakes are. It should be relatively cheap for you and the area is pretty.
You don't know shit, you're just a self hating fag. Point me to the Russia-hating threads made by Poles on here, link me to any of them. Oh, right, you can't, because you're full of shit.
:D
>this retarded gorol from Sosnowiec
We also got rolada, you goof
>I'm from Opolskie and the g*rman minority is a meme created to get gibs from hans.
>All those high percent counties are just villages
I been to Opole this year and i liked it.
How culturally distinct is Poland from its neighboring countries like Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, etc? Are some places/regions more noticeably Polish than others?
that's why I wrote "on here", meaning on Jow Forums
>How culturally distinct is Poland from its neighboring countries like Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, etc?
Well, we have our own language, and our own history, and our own customs. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by culturally distinct. Many Polish dishes, like żurek, can also be found in Belarus and other countries to the east of us, they're a legacy of the Polish-Lithuanian-Commonwealth and the settlement and cultural exchange that happened back then. Then again, we have a different religion from Belarus and Ukraine, and a somewhat different mentality.
>Are some places/regions more noticeably Polish than others?
It's a pretty homogenous country overall. Recently many Ukrainian immigrants have been coming here to work in the big cities, like Warsaw and Gdańsk. I don't think that any area is more Polish than other ones, though. Whenever anyone asks me which place to visit in Poland, I always tell them to visit Kraków, since it was our first capital and it wasn't destroyed during the war, unlike Warsaw, so it has retained most of its original architecutre.

What town exactly?
A village near Bielsko-Biała
I am driving all over Poland mostly through small towns and villages to make photos and relax. I drove mostly all over Southern-Western Poladn so far because it was closest to my city, but now i plan to take 2 weeks off in 2019 (during spring/summer period) and travel through Eastern Poland.
That's my albums so far:
flickr.com
Nice, the Drużbice pics look really pretty.
HEY, why can't I download your photos?
Why did you disable this option?
Because i dont want my photos to be downloaded maybe?
so, what's the point?
If I see something beautiful, why can't I download it?
You can always post link to my flickr account instead and give me more views ;)
Besides i really dont think that my photos have artistical value. All of them were made by smartphone ;)
On this page you can see my smartphone-photos that were most liked by flickr-users:
poles are scum
silesians are the decent ones
Bullshit
I can't use photos as desktop wallpapers without downloading them
also, they don't even give money to you for views
+ all cool photographers usually allow downloading their photos
I do the same but on a road bike and put my photos on google maps instead.
Got 261,902 views so far across 238 photos, and I'm a terrible photographer
>atlanta alert
I just changed permissions, photos can be downloaded
>If you don't like big cities then visit Mazowsze, where all the lakes are
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU FUCKING LUNATIC NIGGER?
THERE ARE NO LAKES IN MAZOWSZE
ARE YOU EVEN POLISH OR JUST LARPING?
thanks, I hope you won't be offended if I will download only a couple
mazurskie, mazowsze, it's all the same shit anyways
regions in the east of the country whose names sound exactly the same
Sure. Download as many as you want. I just didnt expect that anybody could want to download smartphone photos. Nothing artistical in them, just photos of streets and people.
>t. croat who sold his soul to german tourists
You're the worst of balk
Mazurskie is the best region of poland.
Is Silesia more similar to the Czech Republic than the rest of Poland is?
I just recognized my classmates on some photos
flickr.com
In what way?
Friendly reminder that not knowing how to use Inspect Element in 2018 is a disability.
kek
How bad is your asthma?
Cieszyn is, but half of that town is Czech
My daddy has asthma, he has trouble staying here over Christmas, when people heat their homes with coal the most. I, personally, haven't experienced problems because of this, at least not yet.
I remember seeing green smoke coming out chimneys and the smog was so bad near Katowice I could barely see 50m ahead.
Do you own a mask?
thanks, fren
Nah, I don't, but at times the smog is really bad. Like, really bad. I always go jogging during the summer to compensate for the winter months when I sit at home and shelter myself from the smog.
The southern region of Silesia is called Śląsk Cieszyński, which was for very long time a part of Austria-Hungary monarchy and as of regional dialect and overall mentality I admit we and pepiks are very similar.
Most of polish bigger cities have big problem with smog, I live about 20-30km away from big Silesian city and air here is very good, but yeah, it surely is a thing in cities with 100.000+ inhabitants.
I visited Gliwice and Katowice while being in Upper Silesia this year.
Gliwice: flickr.com
Katowice: flickr.com
I liked Gliwice, desu. Cute small town. Katowice was kind of shitty.
>this year.
I meant 'last year'
How'd you liked Hauptbahnhoff?
>Voted cause 500+
retard
>Hauptbahnhoff?
You mean railway station? I didn't check out the one in Katowice, but i walked to the one in Gliwice, and i must admit that it looked decently for such a small town:

I also visit all places related to Jews while traveling all over Poland. Here i found a jewish graveyard in Gliwice with graves made after 1945:

>You mean railway station? I didn't check out the one in Katowice
I just googled it and Katowice railway station looks decently too. Anyway, i didn't have time to make a lot of photos in Katowice because i was in a hurry while being there. But the city didn't make good impression on me, it looked too communist and industrial for taste.
for my* taste
