Previous edition Welcome to /extraflags/, a lovely spin-off of /flag/ except its a general for users with extra flags to discuss flags, extra flags, and autistic activities while funposting. don't have extra flags? get extra flags :^)
>What are extra flags? Extra Flags is an open-source and non-malicious plugin that adds regional flags, like states and provinces, to the already existing national flags on Jow Forums, Jow Forums, /sp/, and Jow Forums, by storing users' post number along with the selected regional flags, and retrieving it from a database when a thread is loaded. You can add your region's flag by requesting it on the GitHub page.
Well, while I'm not a fan of going back to having a foreign entity ruling the islands I'd be dishonest if I said that I'm completely against the idea. The question is, is the Order the same Order that was back then? How do I know whether the Order went down the same path as the church or not? Ideally a new, serious political party forms, a political party that won't let stupid words like "xenophobe" stop them from saying what they want to say, and as soon as one of them is starting to show a hint of being like PL or PN, throw them out. If possible, I'd go back in time and arm the Order so they could fight off Napoleon instead of surrendering, but that's a bit impossible. And sometimes I wish the Italian irredentists had their way.
Luis Lopez
>I'm not a fan of going back to having a foreign entity ruling the islands Are they really foreign? I don't know how to classify them, it's kinda confusing >I wish the Italian irredentists had their way. Why do they claim Malta?
Jordan Anderson
Also something irrelevant, what parts of history are taught in the Maltese schools?
violentmonkey on firefox. It is an old version of firefox, 53.0, cuz I was tired of browsers changing the UI worse and worse. SO might be old enough it's getting compatibility problems with stuff now.

Bentley Barnes
>Are they really foreign? I don't know how to classify them, it's kinda confusing There's nothing really Maltese about them. They came from different European noble families. The Maltese weren't even allowed to join the Order. >Why do they claim Malta? Well, first of all Malta was always tied with Sicily, be it duchy, theme, emirate, and the Kingdom itself. Second of all, we Maltese are of Italian origin. Our earliest confirmed ancestors that lived here are the mostly Sicilian families that moved here after the Norman conquest. As time passed by, more Italians moved here which further Italianized(?) the islands. It explains why many of our surnames are of Italian origin and the Italian influence in the Maltese language. When we became a British colony, there was the language question. The Brits wanted to remove Italian from being an official language, and replace it with English and Maltese. The Brits would also deny our ties with Italy, and say that we're Arabs. This lead to the Anti-Reform party/movement to form. These were people who opposed these changes and saw themselves as Italians. There was also the Pro-Reform party which is quite obvious what they wanted. By time these two parties evolved into the two tumors we have ruling today; Anti-Reform being PN and Pro-Reform being PL. There are some song from Fascist Italy that says that Malta is Italian. Something like that. >what parts of history are taught in the Maltese schools? From what I remember, there was two subjects. One of them was compulsory and less detailed, while the other was optional and more detailed. I remember we had stuff about the Prehistoric period, Phoenicians, Knights of st. John, and the British.
I meant to do it to County level. city level doesn't have my city in the list, Rowlett, so I was gonna skip that. How do I make that flag setup popup again?
Jackson Powell
click teh violentmonkey go to extraflags setup

I should start learning more about your history, it seems very interesting. Are you aware of any other mentions of Malta from ancient Greeks besides the Kalypso myth?
Logan Gomez
>I should start learning more about your history, it seems very interesting I'm flattered, especially coming from a Greek :3 It's hard not to have a rich history given our geographical position. Getting involved in all kinds of shit was inevitable. >Are you aware of any other mentions of Malta from ancient Greeks besides the Kalypso myth? I'm not.
Carson Green
There should be a little icon in the top right corner of your browser (i use chrome so it's there) with a square face with two eyes. On here it should display a red box with a "1" on it to show that the plugin is working.
Click this, and scroll down to "extra flags setup". From there you should start on Texas, and have a selection of counties. Since you're from Rowlett, you should select either Dallas or Rockwell county; if there isn't a flag or seal for rockwell i can make one for the plugin at your request.
Chase Howard
Rowlett does have a flag, so i'll add it when i get home. It's ugly as fuck, so i'd advise you to try convincing your city to hold a flag contest.
Ayden Ross
Mediterranean medieval history is bretty interesting
>I'm flattered, especially coming from a Greek :3 I mean I know a few basics for most Euro countries, but almost nothing about Maltese history. Until recently I only knew that you were invaded by Arabs and that's why you speak a funny language and that there where some Knights.
Levi Stewart
I wish the Knights of St. john were still in control of Malta. In EU4 if you play as a country which holds Malta and the Knights get kicked off of Rhodes, then you will get an event giving the opportunity to give the Knights Malta, which would give you +100 opinion from the Pope and +50 from the Knights. They are an awesome vassal; their ideas are insane.
Julian Martin
I might end up moving to Texas for a while. What's it like there to anyone who's been/lived there?
Andrew Jones
did you watch la catedral del mar? what do you think of it?
Hunter Flores
it's very flat, boring, and full of people. Southern part of the state is basically Mexico, North is as redneck as america will get, and the east is part of dixie. Since you're black you might wanna consider looking at a city like Beaumont.
Adrian Garcia
It sure is. What was this battle about? I forgot desu. > I only knew that you were invaded by Arabs and that's why you speak a funny language and that there where some Knights. Yeah that's basically the first thing people learn about us, along with our involvement in WWII. I play CKII and in their latest update they added an event where if you conquer any island in the Mediterranean, the Knights will ask you to give it to them. I have yet to do this bus essentially you can give Malta to the knights at an earlier date than when it actually happened, which is cool.
Hudson Miller
Nah didn't watch it. May watch it for Christmas though. Did they air it on Mexico?
Jaxson Williams
I'm probably just going there to finish my last 2 years of Uni then moving back here (Going to University of Texas). If I like it I may end up living there, but the North and East would have to be better than here for that to happen.
Adrian Jones
The Knights always find a way to survive forever in my playthroughs. I remember them holding out until 1650 on Rhodes before Tunis ate them up. Ottomans left them alone
Elijah Ortiz
Yeah the University of Texas is in a city which is pretty much the California of Texas. You'll rake women based on skin color alone, so get ready
Blake Nelson
I tried EUIV before but I found it a bit complicated. I wish to try it again someday. I prefer the dynasty oriented gameplay of CKII desu.
Caleb Nelson
its on netflix
Aiden Scott
it's difficult as fuck to play but it's very fun. I haven't had time to play because I gotta get ready for the biggest final of my life, but Iberia recently got an update and the nation I play is Castile, so i'm excited to curbstomp Moors when all is said and done
Ethan Morris
>was this battle about? The based and redpilled king of Aragon came to the aid of moderate rebels that didn't like the frenchy faggots and brought you freedom and democracy in the process.
I always enjoy converting the entire Middle East and New World to Catholic when I play as Castile. Even though it's much better for the nation to keep the Moors and Moriscos, I still kick them out and suffer huge stability decreases anyway.
Jace Diaz
MAN ON TOP AGAIN
Owen Adams
i'll fight for malta when the time comes
Mason Sullivan
Seeing your enemy under your rule converting to your religious is always pleasurable to witness. That's very noble of you.
William Taylor
>what could have been.png
Luke Parker
fuck yourself you meatball teehee put flaghunter in the op so fucking clever exfuckingdee
Rowlett's flag has been submitted to the github, check your plugin over the next couple days and it should be ready for you to use.
Jason Martinez
Flag? Where did you go?
Zachary Moore
based, but please submit issues to gitLAB instead of (((gitHUB)))
added flag
Logan Thomas
ello
Josiah Harris
did we change sites for extraflags? when did this happen?
thx
Jace Perez
I moved over to gitlab when microsoft bought out github. everything is mirrored to github, but our main project is on the freer gitlab site. Luckily, trieste has the autism to monitor the issues for both pages
Brody Thompson
Why is collecting flags so addictive?
Easton Kelly
its wholesome and it seems achievable, even tho its impossible to get every single flag
Joshua Sanchez
OI! DO YOU HAVE A LOICENSE FOR THOSE FLAGS?!
Blake Nelson
just trying to update something on the server, hang on
Robert Nelson
are you trying to install? need help?
Sebastian White
no, I am updating the webserver for extraflags to support TLSv1.3
Christian Brown
good shit
Xavier Edwards
I had to give up since the flags werent loading. I upadted nginx regardless but not TLSv1.3 yet. I will dabble with it another time
Michael Ross
yeah i saw the flags weren't loading for a little while. It's okay
Angel Martin
Are we at least on TLS 1.2? I know 1.3 was just finished recently
Sebastian Ramirez
Tampa, do you want me to make flags for Manatee County?
Josiah Harris
yeah, I removed support for 1.0 since it isnt secure anymore. we have had 1.1 & 1.2 since the server was setup.
Gabriel Barnes
Sweet Honestly there are probably only 2 and I don't live in either of them, I live in an unincorporated community since this area's pretty rural, so I don't have a flag or local government.
Thomas Mitchell
aw that stinks I already made them. There were 5 cities, one town. Very easy since they all had seals found in png form on wikipedia page.
I also found an official seal for Manatee County. I'm ready to make a new county seal flag for it. Do we know if the county flag right now is official? Is it just a logo?
Hudson Parker
It's a logo used on water towers and official envelopes, but I don't know if it's flown as a flag or not. I'm not near any major population centers to check
Michael Bailey
It's the county logo. I just added a new flag with the official county seal. Both are available on wikipedia; doesnt look like the county nor cities have official flags. Save the old Manatee County flag whilst yall can lol.
Landon Davis
testing
Christopher Howard
I guess it takes some time
Gabriel Johnson
I submitted the flags, but they havent been added to the repository yet.
Xavier Nelson
I figured as much, I have permissions on the gitlab but I don't do things around there
Blake Morgan
this is gonna be the longest weekend of my life. At least I got integration by parts, partial fraction decomposition, improper integrals, sequences, telescoping series, the integral test, and the divergence test down tonight.
Series and sequences and some parametrics due tomorrow for review.
Josiah Parker
I absolutely got raped on my first exam of the season today, not looking forward to more
Eli Reed
Breh, i rolled a 61 on my last exam. i need an 82 or above to get my A in Calc 2. I feel like i'm pulling an October Clayton kershaw right now
Parker Taylor
That's at least a 70 overall, assuming partial credit on what you've not gotten down. You'll get it, just take it easy and work problems.
This looks good, I might be able to make a map out of this. I'm not a Swiss expert so I don't know all the differences. In the southwest, is that tiny dot a canton? Or is it a part of a larger canton?
Isaac Reed
My nigger, I ain't nowhere near done yet. I still need to cover >Direct and limit comparison tests >alternating series test >ratio/root test >power series, radius and interval of convergence >mclaurin/taylor series >mclaurin/taylor series substitution, integration, differentiation
>arc length >surface area by revolution
>parametric calculus >graphing parametric equations, finding slopes w parametric equations, finding eqns of lines >parametric arc length, area under a curve >listing coordinates, reading, and drawing polar graphs >converting to and fro cartesian and polar equations >slopes, arc length, and area under curve of polars
(THIS UNIT IS WHAT I GOT THE 61 ON) >conic sections, parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas >graphing conic sections from their equations >doing shit with spheres in 3D >vectors >dot product, cross product >vector line, plane eqns, projections, volumes >determine the relationships b/t lines >QUADRIC SURFACES (FML) >vector functions >vector calculus
Robert Ross
it is a canton. There are quite a few cantons which are basically just cities.
Ayden Nguyen
>conic sections, parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas >graphing conic sections from their equations >doing shit with spheres in 3D >vectors >dot product, cross product >vector line, plane eqns, projections, volumes >determine the relationships b/t lines >QUADRIC SURFACES (FML) >vector functions >vector calculus This was the material for two separate tests when I took calc 3, not sure why it's all in calc 2 for you. Seems a bit unfair but a good head start. Most of the rest of that stuff shouldn't be showing up on the final if it's cumulative, I'd say series and parametrics, and then the calc 3 stuff. But honestly the stuff you listed in your prior post is most of the content I had on my calc 2 final.
Jayden Howard
my community college is known for being on a high difficulty curve. For example, in order for your AP exam scores to count here, you need 4+. The CSU in my town just needs 3, and so do most state colleges.
I remember one guy saying we were on the same difficulty curve as Cal but I don't know how true that is. I do know the SRJC used to be Cal's feeder school back in the early 20th century
