when norway declined, the UK mined their ports and prepared for an invasion, which the germans sniffed out and attacked first then occupied the country

during the occupation most norwegians collaborated, to atleast the excent of working for germans but that doesnt fly so well after ww2, so instead we have this illusion of heroic resistance, which the UK supported (and resulted in some norwegian deaths because obviously they didnt actually send anyone but explosives and radios to commit sabotage)

another part of UK being liked comes from the norwegian air forces pilots getting their own fighter squadrons in the UK earning rewards and downing many german planes

they forget how many ppl died in sabotage attacks (yes their own ppl), how many died in useless liferaft attempts fleeing the country and ofc the UK bombing norway

in short they believe the UK did everything to liberate them, while its the one and only reason it got occupied D:

From my experience with Euros I have no trouble believing Brits do believe they did the most but you have to see it through their point of view, the worst part for them was the Battle of Britain and they managed to win it despite receiving no help. For the rest of the countries it would be logical that out west they believe Americans did more and in the East they believe its the Soviets, but when you look at the death count and realize like 75% or so of the fight occured in the Eastern front then saying "Americans" won the war is pathetic because they were not even in the Battle of Berlin
