All children in rural/suburban areas should be sent to boarding schools to finish their education.

All it takes is americans losing their status as the eminent world power for english to lose it's place. Example: The second most popular language for writing scientific papers in finland before WW2 was german. Now it's english. Might be that 30 years into the future it will be chinese. No one knows since it can change so fast.

Try to explain to them how their degrees are worthless because sociology uses the same neutral research methods as any other field of study.

Too many non-steam degrees will have poor return-on-investments? Is this the most important factor to base academic studies on? Why does philosophy get a free pass? Since the over abundance of stem degrees is already devaluing engineering work why would you be against training more artists, philologists and sport & health professionals?

You are assuming that fission would have been possible earlier. The same holds true for artificial intelligence which isnt possible to this day but the cocept has been around since the first chess engine. There needs to be a diverse progress in multiple fields to make this kind of stuff possible.
