our population is increasing because we have the tech to support it. medicine and infrastructure. once a population in nature expands to its limit, extra animals cant survive and die off so it finds an equilibrium.

profit exists because people are a surplus of labor compared to how much they need to survive. having 80 million more people who are functional is actually a godsend because then people can diversify into different areas of technology. if there were only 1 person, they need to spend all their time feeding themselves. if there are 10, some people can deal with food and others can focus on clothing. if there are 100, some can deal with food and clothing and the rest can deal with building. if there are 1000, the rest can start developing medicine. if there are 10000, many of them can develop art and culture because you need far fewer people in each field than the benefits they have for humanity.

the only real argument against a high population is raw materials. if we run out of materials, we die. but thats not a "kill people off because theres too many" argument its a "we need to find ways to develop more sustainably, run the numbers to find our population peak on earth, find ways to efficiently gather more materials from space, and efficiently allocate the land mass we have on our planet"
