next time post cute anime girls while doing it so they can pretend to help a cute girl learn german.

>UK: 5-9%
I'm guessing the people who collected the data for this study got trolled because there is no way this is true unless knowing the words "volkswagen" and "bratwurst" count as knowing German.

We have German classes here in school but they're absolutely worthless (like language classes everywhere) and nobody comes out of them knowing how to say or understand anything more complicated than "wo is die toiletten?".

is switzerland neutral from fucking language polls too? wtf

they probably didnt want to get involved in the problematic of counting swiss german as knowing german. its a hotly debated topic.

they just can't accept they're germanic and their language is a dialect of german

Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet Treue sein für alle Tage...

but you already speak czech. wich unironically was the language of "ignorant servile scum" aka the peasants in bohemia, while most of the upper class was speaking german. "Böhmische Dörfer" = bohemian villages were even a german euphemism for a backwater. czech even went extinct as a written language for a while, only carrying on as spoken language. I heared written czech can be very different from spoken one, this is the reason.

how could I learn german effectively just for reading their books?

This appears to be an EU study, and Switzerland aren't in the EU. Note that Norway isn't shown either. In a few months' time, we'll be greyed out too.

Don't forget where the word robot comes from

ich spreche ein bisschen deutsch

with the brexit stuff I might as well learn because Im not wagecucking for greek tier salary.

Is it really that low in hungary? Wow i thought everyone in western hungary commuted to Vienna and shit

Italian is objectivley the most useless western european language, I mean even learning Dutch and Danish is more important if you want to live in a functioning society, but learning shitalian? You might as well learn Somalian if you want to take a trip to the third world that is shitaly. That's why I am learning French instead

based american. French is the language of culture

french is ugly as sin

DIE FAHNE HOCH

>they're absolutely worthless (like language classes everywhere)
This, why are language classes so god damn shit?

By reading the books
Start with basic kid books and use the internet as you go

i used college text books to start off, from the pearson company. I used the books called "treff punkt" and "Wie geht's"

But I want a somewhat systemic curriculum. Can you recommend me some good textbooks for grammar or something?
Thanks. I'll check'em

Sounds cute when girls speak it though. But its pretty petty and gay not choosing a language to study because of the sound. i admit that french can sound gay as fuck when dudes speak it but french just had so much literature and great films it's still a rewarding lang to study

I didn't pick french because it's irrelevant and a waste of time when I could study spanish instead

I want to but my small shitalian brain isn't capable of speaking auch a majestically complex language

>Treue sein für alle Tage
...treu ihr sein für alle Tage
Why does this get posted all the time? It doesn't make sense at all... Is it copied from a lyrics website/database or what?

I would have thought in Europe French would be more relevant than Spanish, you know since the EU and a bigger population of speakers and more countries speak French

Auf Wiedersehen....DUMMKOPF!

>had German classes in school for 8 years
>still don't know German well enough to have even the most basic conversations
>tfw brainlet

That's true i suppose. But you can always speak english if them, however I guess the same applies to spanish/SA people

Self studying is the key

I did study on my own, I'm just very stupid.

>Im a monolingual tard
>the post

Fuck g*rman

If you want access to top tier books you should learn Russian instead desu. And stick with English for the 2nd best/

Same, which is funny considering I learned proper conversational Spanish after just 2 semesters in Uni. But German somehow just does not stick.

If you speak Dutch then you can translate it into German word for word without changing the sentence. And most words are almost the same as well. So it's quite easy.

We still manage to fuck it up because we have no German media.

>If you speak Dutch then you can translate it into German word for word without changing the sentence. And most words are almost the same as well. So it's quite easy.

that isn't even true, half the time in German the word order changes to put the verbs at the end of the sentences this doesn't happen in dutch

this

based, except speaking shitalian

you should learn Romansch instead, in fact Romansch should be the official lingua franca of Switzerland, thin about it

>it's unique only to switzerland
>it's got very cool Celtic influences
>easy to learn
>English is a brainlet language

youtube.com/watch?v=wX45Td-HEcI

danish sounds like piggy language for pig skin people

>learning something that isn't english or chink
it's like you enjoy wasting time
