Québec was mostly populated by people from Northern France, had a lot of aristocrats come over, plus tough times and pioneering the frigid climate weeded out the weak. Meanwhile in France they've been flooded with Spanish/Italians/Nafris, and the guillotines of the French Revolution weeded out the strong.

Quebec in some ways is an exclave of pre-WWI French culture and society, and managed to avoid much of the radical globalism that befell both France and most of Europe under a half-century of EU control, owing greatly to Quebec's geography and resilient identity.
Now if only they can escape Tudeau's clutches next.
