Meh, 100% voice acted games almost killed the RPG genre. Unless you hire really shitty voice actors or have a very limited amount of conversations in the game, being 100% voice acted drives the costs up a shit ton. Obviously I too prefer to have a fully properly voice acted game, but I'll also much rather take a game that does it like Baldurs Gate than a fully voice acted game with very limited role playing (mass effect for example since its the same studio, if you can even count the latter entries as rpg).

That’s something at least, a lot of countries in europe have nothing at all or just some literal who student developed games. It’s even more notable when you take a look at the aftermath of communism

It has some cool environments, especially the Romanian one with ex-commie bunkers. I have to give the developers credit for a lot of their unique ideas as far as combat, quests and general game design go. It also looks good as a game and you can tell they actually put work into it. Where it falls flat is actual mechanics; the combat is kind of clunky and while it is novel it just isn’t something I would call “fun”. It’s worth a play through though especially if you can get a friend or two to play with you.

One more thing, The Secret World has a lot of quests that are about investigation, puzzle-solving and deciphering things from a set of clues. It’s actually a lot more engaging than the “kill 10 orcs” that every other game is full of, thought it has those quests too for the sake of variance.

Gothic was awesome... for ITS time.
Its legacy is shit, sadly, Gothic 2-3 are pretty much remake of the first slightly improved, but nothing else.
