I feel like Kurds are an overhyped meme. Also what made them think they weren’t just going to be another pointless rebel group like the mujahideen or any sort of anti-socialist Latin American party

They made an alliance of convenience with the US against IS, I doubt they actually ever thought they were getting a country out of this

good riddance lmao

pretty sure the kurds managed to hold their own even before the advent of US troops

nope they were getting ass fucked on all fronts

lol, no they weren't

t.k*rt in belgium

Why did Kurds try to steal Tajikistan's flag?

is leddit going to lose their minds when their empowered womyn batallions get btfoed??

>I feel like Kurds are an overhyped meme.

It's the opposite. I know of four religious groups that are native to almost nowhere else but Kurdistan. Yazidis, Alevis, Shabaks and Nestorians. That the significance of the region is ignored may be seen from the fact that before the 20th century, Iraqi Kurdistan was never called Iraq, which referred to places further south, the Turkish official region of Southeast Anatolia which is Turkish Kurdistan was never called Anatolia, and the Syrian Kurdistan was also only called Syria in certain contexts; all three of these only began in the 20th century.

Nestorians as far as Beijing are known to have visited some of the sites destroyed by I. S. I. S. by 1300.

Kurdish, Aramaic, Turkmen, Circassian and Arabic are all spoken there. Whereas in several nearby areas like Egypt there is only one native language being spoken at home.

This is the flag of the Yazidis.

Bump

Shit.
>hat made them think they weren’t just going to be another pointless rebel group
First, they have the point - the recognition of their right of self-determination, granted by League of Nations.
Second, they are already unique for our years. Looka at the organisation of labor in Rojava. They're literally revolutionary cooperativists, similar to Civil War Catalonia.

Based Turks, kill those flag thieving scum.

that sucks, anyone know why we agreed to this?

Trump ran on the idea of destroying isis and getting the fuck out of there as soon as it is done.

Sucks for the dumb fucks that died fighting isis though, the turks are going to go apeshit on them along with assad to pick up the leftovers.

Glad im not in that hellhole.

May the Syrian Kurds run into the arms of Bashar the Lion for protection and be welcomed back into the fold.

I throw both my shoes at Sultan Erdogan.

>X group in the middle east is based and fighting tyranny!

*farts on kurds*

The issue is that some kurds want land from other countries like Iran where kurds have been living in for thousands of years. In fact kurds are even considered iranian.

There's an issue when they want something that doesn't belong to them and when they purposefully start raising discontent among the native population of iran. That's why the IRI bombed their base to shit
