reading fiction is no better than watching a film, I legitimately don't understand why reading is associated with being intellectual, when most people tend to read fiction.

reading can be a fun hobby but I laugh when people claim it to be any more meaningful/fulfilling than movies or videogames
it's a time-sink, nothing more, a substitute for human interaction just like any other. if you want to improve as a human being, go outside or lift some weights or something. reading fucking harry potter all day isn't going to make you any smarter.
