pretty easy to learn conversational german, grammatical genders are fucking stupid tho

Do you speak it?

ja

I'll tell you what's the hardest part. They have cases. That's not very hard by itself but it's hard because Germans use their cases in the articles and it depends on the gender of the article so you basically have to memorize the gender of every single noun because there is no way of telling what is what.

It's easy enough if you have the motivation
It's fucking pointless though, all educated Germans speak good English and the ones who don't aren't worth talking to

we learned it in school so it's easy for me to brush up

>conversational german

That bastardization of my mother tongue you foreigners call "conversational german" is not proper german at all

es ist der hammer

How bad does the average Foreigner speak German?

There's no way of learning a language without butchering it first. People shouldn't be ashamed of it.

you're a turk you should know

i dont get it

Very. If you’re in the mood for something Germanic, learn Dutch or Swedish instead. I love Germans and Germany is a beautiful country but their language is the definition of autism.

>their language is the definition of autism
Why?

I don't know what you're trying to imply about me but it's the truth
The only people who have a reason to learn German are immigrants to Germany and academics who need to read books published before WWII

young turks

???

not hard at all

Rammstein is my German tutor.

Words have a fixed order based on their category and there many ways of forming plurals. Cases depend on articles but you can't tell which gender is which by just looking at a word and there are three genders

Mark Twain wrote a rant about the german language read it here:

Do you use the preterite when speaking then?

Grill on the right.
I want to breed her...!

So? That applies to most languages except for English

having a neutral gender is autistic though

Harder than any other modern Romance or Germanic language but easier than Slavic languages.

Sorry you got something wrong here languages with case systems are characterized by having freer word orders than those that don't.

das rite

r u from quebec

I mean like "second verb goes at the end, adverb goes here" blah blah blah

It's fairly hard. Much more difficult than any scandinavian or romance language, but easier than russian, icelandic, and other langs with even more cases

We got this 1 hour / week @ school.
Ist nicht so ein schwierige Sprache meine freund.
