Ever since I finished all my Uni stuff for the year, I've sunk about 50 hours into Stellaris. The 2.2 update is pretty good, but the finer points of the game are so fucking broken now.
You can generate infinite money by selling resources, the AI is fucking stupid, 2 endgame crisis are broken on a fundamental level, large sections of the game are completely unviable and what's even worse is that the population growth mechanics now make it so that majority races stop reproducing once a single alien settles on their world.

The solution is obviously to turn into space Hitler and to swiftly purge every Alien that dares to set foot on your planets.

I presume he starts his Starcraft from Battle.net

I used to think that but after 800 hours, you realise that it is just blobbing, slow, and warfare and colonisation are very unrealistic. Civ V is only fun in the scenarios and multiplayer though.
