It was good for 2002, but it's clearly shit now
Video games age like milk
based
Unironically this
Boomers like old shit because of muh nostalgia but they are objectively worse than the new ones
Only good for the story and some of the mechanics. Otherwise it hasn't aged well.
based merchant killing the polish thief
Morrowind had GOAT lore and setting, and it was fun to break it, but if I were a non-boomer I probably wouldn't see the point.
Looking forward to Skywind. Doubt it will be as fun, though.
Chill up, zoomers.
>Video games age like milk
no, they don't Metal Gear Solid 1&2 and Mario 64 are still goat
They say boomers just overrate morrowind out of nostalgia
I'm a zoomer that played Skyrim, Oblivion, New Vegas, and Fallout 3 before playing Morrowind and it's hands down better than any of them. It's such an interesting and alien world that you want to know more about, rather than America in rubble, generic fantasy, or vikings. It feels amazing to go from a weak little bitch to jumping over cities and killing gods. The game doesn't fucking treat you like a retard either.
I played Morrowind again a year or two ago and I thought it had aged just fine.
Glad you were able to enjoy it mate. I really don't know what it is that some other younger people can't get past.
i played it not too long ago for the first time and its not bad at all
its tedious and complicated a bit, has its own feel to it
its alright
How bout this
What feels tedious to you?
Oblivion was way more fun to play
I like Dragon Age: Origins!
I completely agree
Oblivion was a ridiculous joke of a game
just like in the case of Gothic 2 and Morrowind, Gothic 3 was far ahead of Oblivion in every aspect
Great game.
Still sad Gothic 3 was rushed and released like it was. It could have been amazing, still fun though.
/v/ tells me Gothic 3 is hot garbage and only to play 2 but I always take their negative ass opinions with a grain of salt.
I play Morroblivion because I prefer Oblivion's version of the Gamebryo engine, physics, and combat and inventory system
They're not completely wrong. Play 1, then 2, then 3. You'll hate 3 less if you've played 2 and will appreciate 2 more if you've played 1. Gothic 3's scope was way too big and it got released rushed and unfinished. Amazing ost though.
>Gothic 3's scope was way too big and it got released rushed and unfinished.
Is this anything like Daggerfall? If you ever played that?
because Gothic 3 is a garbage compared to first gothic games, but still a decent game overall
it has a big open world with 3 entirely different climate zones (desert, regular fields/forest, snowy north) and there is absolutely no loading anywhere, there is smooth transition between them
main issue with Gothic 3 is the trash combat which is a downgrade from Gothic 1/2, lack of proper storyline divided by chapters and terrible engine that even with new top tier GPUs can't keep constant 60fps without stuttering
i liked this game enough to complete it twice on my 2006 PC where i had like 15 fps and loading a savegame took over a minute
Daggerfall is way bigger, I completed that this year yeah. But compared to its predecessors Gothic 3 was huge, too big for its own good desu.
Seriously you will like the Gothic series, if you're okay with combat that takes some getting used to you'll learn to love it. It's not so much a fantasy life sim as elder scrolls games are but fun action rpg's with a comfy setting.
Also, in the english VA in G2 lot of NPCs sound like rednecks lmao.
anyone play this game? felt kind of weird and wasn't really compelled by the story, world, or gameplay so never got too far in it
didn't seem necessarily bad though just not compelling
heard the sequel was decent
Yeah I played a fair bit. Was interesting. Sequel was interesting too but felt a bit grindy.
this game and it's sequel are terribly clunky and there was nothing to keep me playing it after the prologue
Daggerfall sort of has its own place in my heart because I'm a boomer and played it when it was new in the 90's but it was full of bugs and problems. I'm impressed that you were able to deal with all that stuff in current year.
thoughts on Daggerfall Unity?
Yeah it helped that I streamed it so I had a reason to keep playing. Played as an assassin so no anchor spell either, frustrating but fun nonetheless.
Now I just fuck around with powerbuilds for the heck of it.
I don't really know enough to have intelligent thoughts on it but I'm interested. What about you?
Are there more games like that?
seems interesting to me
I honestly wouldn't mind if they kept going and changed some core elements of the game such as adding actual 3D figures and completely changed the town/city generation to include more organic and realistic town layouts
You might enjoy some of the D&D based games like Baldur's Gate. Origins was definitely a bit reminiscent of that.
Who like CRPG?
>CRPG
I'm unclear on how that term is defined but I think I like them.
you mean like Arcanum, Planescape Torment and Fallout? I like those, they're pretty cool.
Played it very recently and it's easily one of the best games I've played in years.
Good man.
>Planescape Torment
The best one.
Damn right, chief
Fallout 1 >fallout 2
I agree, fallout 2 was a bit too big and memey, still fun though. Story of 1 just fits together really well.
Based.
I am a zoomer and this is my favourite game
God why did I lose interest in video games
Clearly you still have some interest if you regret not liking them as much anymore! Try out something in your free time.
I'm almost forty and have gone through phases like this for at least ten years. I busted out of my most recent funk with Soul Calibur 6 which was easy because it doesn't require much focus.
Thanks guys
Just get a little list of video games which you wanted to walk through. And try to completely end all from the list.
Sometimes you can understand how game is good only after 3 or even 7 hours of gameplay.
Will do that senpai, thanks
G3 had massive game world when it came out but it's shit in every other regard
kotor 1 and 2. Kotor 2 is still the best star wars related content ive ever experienced
This is how I overcame my period when games looked boring and stupid for me.
unfinished, no magic, only main quest and assasin guild are complete
skyrims better.
dont >> me
bump
bump
*kill you*
eh nothing personal kid
eh, the best one in the 3d scrolls trilogy by far, i would rank mechwarrior 4 mercs and descent freespace above it, those were some of the finest games i've ever played.
That's not Daggerfall
shut your yap you fucking twat Morrowind is one of the best games ever and it aged great!
Why is it always Slavs who are obsessed with gothic?
Never played it m8
Because we're the only human subspecies that can tolerate Eurojank.
Tried to play it but is was meh, same with oblivion. Shit graphics, clunky movements, world looks empty, fighting is laughable. I really enjoyed Skyrim though, looking forward for skywind and skyblivion
18yo-zoomer
did you ever play it?
based ruski
don't ever show yourself on the internet ever again scrub
One of the best, definitely.
Morrowind GOAT
Skyrim absolutely based
Then there is Oblivion which was not in the same ballpark at all. Didn’t like the voices, didn’t like the models, didn’t like the automatically generated green forest bland shite, really didn’t like the story. Boring boring boring. Even Daggerfall was a more enjoyable experience
ESO is not worth mentioning
>literally have to consult the wiki to find the master level trainers for skills or else autistically cast command on every hostile NPC while talking to every non-hostile one too
Hy ты и coня, тeбя дaжe вчepaшний штopм нe paзбyдил.

>mfw someone else on Jow Forums may actually have played the fuck out of a Might and Magic game pre Mandate of Heaven
>E.Y.E
>You gain Brouzouf
Are you really a Korean?
You are now experiencing peek comfy.
물론
now homm3, there was a classic pc game. they don't make games like that any more
