There is no such thing pajeet. asic means application specific integrated chip. Any algo apart from NP hard problems can have an asic developed for it. You can counter by increasing the need for access to thing like L3 cache which cpu's are already pretty good at but ultimately you cant stop them from being developed.

yeah you could make a coin that slightly shifts the hardware requirement to more memory or more gpu as it's difficulty adjusts. it would be very hard to purpose build hardware for it other than an actual gpu.

its a weak proposition. firstly, you have to somehow create a decentralised governance model that always agrees on the new algo or you will get multiple chain splits each time algo changes which reduces trust in the coin. secondly, how do you trust that the new algo proposition isnt some kind of inside job in which an asics was being developed for the past several months. the only way to fix it is to find game theoretic model that takes the incentive away from mining rewards. iota is a pretty good example of this desu.
