In China, the Hangzhou No...

>In China, the Hangzhou No. 11 Middle School is trialling a smart classroom behaviour management system which uses cameras and facial recognition to keep track of student performance.

>The system is able to measure the expressions of students, including anger, annoyance, surprise, and of course, happiness.

>According to Hangzhou Network, the system can provide an alert to the teacher when a student's inattentive behaviour reaches a certain value.

>"The system is advanced enough to capture the subtle facial expressions in class," a school official told Zhejiang Daily, as per a translation by What's On Weibo.

"This data system can be used to analyze the behavior of the entire class. And of course, this is a very efficient way to check class attendance."

Should this be adopted in other countries?

this is some Deus Ex shit

It'd be interesting to evaluate teaher perfomance and provide psychological assistance to individual students if they ar econsistently showing distress

But the intended purposes - to make the little grades average number go up - treads the úpper limit of whst human behaviour can take.

China is really looking forwad to a new columbine each week.

>According to Hangzhou Network, the system can provide an alert to the teacher when a student's inattentive behaviour reaches a certain value.

As like checking merchandice, It looks on them.

Depends on how effective the system will be in practice.

hrm, interesting to see how this pans out. i can forsee if this or the social credit system starts paying dividends other countries will adopt similar measures.

Wtf is wrong with china

As a teacher, I want this system in my classroom NOW. If you don’t think so, you’ve never had to teach minority students.

I have always been the smartest student in my class during high-school (private) and I can still say I've never learnt anything from a teacher, always by studying alone at home. Most time during classes I was slacking off doing random things. I would probably kill myself if there was a robot checking wether I was paying atention all the time.

desu this could have helped me not become a bumfuck. Grades aren't enough to tell which students need special attention.

>implying based china won't come up with a software to detect future criminals before they commit their heinous acts and send them to reeducation camps where they belong

wtf is wrong with your education system
high iq post

people are unironically hoping china becomes the next superpower

yes, we all recognize that living under chinese leadership is much better than living under american one

you mean living under a zionist one?

Orwellian as fuck.

People hate failed american leadership.

>being anti-chinese means being anti-american

I prefer not to get shot in school.

i fucked that up

>being anti-chinese means being pro-america
soiboy.jpg

Bring your own weapon with you then.

Nothing. It just salty weebs

Come on. How can you possibly support China when do they so much surveillance shit like this? Yes, I know we do it too, but you are being dishonest if you don't think the Chinese do it way more.

why do you even care? it's china doing surveillance shit on their own people. let them experiment with it and see if there are any actual practical uses for this type of technology.

singapore should be a chinese city-state controlled by the ccp

they are like slaves
oh well

They should have tested this first on wagecucks instead of students.

>The system is able to measure the expressions of students, including anger, annoyance, surprise, and of course, happiness.

>Insectoids
>Feelings

How do they measure emotions on emotionless chink insects?

I'd like to see them try to adopt this in Australia, if only to demonstrate how colossally inept/apathetic the government is when it comes to organising information technology and communication systems.

>but you are being dishonest if you don't think the Chinese do it way more.
Yeah, no. Your country is the undisputed king of this shit. The difference is that China isn't trying to pretend like these projects don't exist.

china needs to be stopped

No.

why
let chinese people handle it

that truck looks like its made of lego

how long until this techonology is mandatory in every building and in every street.

This is some thought police shit that will lead to the end of humanity

>the end of humanity
The start of posthumanity

nigga, if this shit don't work and has no benefit, nobodies going to use it.

as long as its contained to china who cares
start getting antsy when you see it in your own country.
As far as I can tell, chinese people like having the government as a big parent and having that much control
perhaps it would cause bad things but at the end of the day its not a problem for us. its there problem and they have the freedom to decide if they will tolerate it or not

>that will lead to the end of humanity
finally.

Attached: skynet.png (950x534, 936K)

And if it does work? If it becomes so efficient that it can be used to tell an employer exactly how efficient their employees are?

>as long as its contained to china who cares
that's not how technology works

>start getting antsy when you see it in your own country.
It is way too late by then

chinese have a weird obsession with social control but at least we get to watch and see if it works

if it works than we have technology that can detect children who are not receptive to certain teaching methods. those children can then sent to a classroom with teaching methods they are more receptive too.

let's face it, we are woefully unequipped to deal with children that are simply not engaged in education.

>let's face it, we are woefully unequipped to deal with children that are simply not engaged in education.
Yeah no shit because our entire public school system is based around the industrial revolution era. That is why classes are sorted by age and that is why periods begin and end with bells, as they use to in factories.

Schools need a modern revamp for sure, but letting children know their every movement and every feeling is being monitored by some big brother is not the right direction to go in.

>>but letting children know their every movement and every feeling is being monitored by some big brother is not the right direction to go in.

and how do we know if we don't actually try it? if China is willing to bite the bullet, why the fuck not? it's not like we have to deal with any of the potential fallout.

what the actual fuck is wrong with chinks

Say it is so efficient at controlling their population that they have world class efficiency at the expense of all humanity. Do you really believe that every other government in the world would stand back and miss the opportunity to gain both power and money? It would be implemented everywhere and very likely implemented in other sectors too.

That's progress dude. You are on the wrong side of history.

if it works in practicality and benefits mankind by educating children and reducing the number of under performing and delinquent children. maybe it is the fucking right way to do dude. nobody put a gun to anybody head and demand that they use these tools. if China want's to experiment with it, no shit off my ass. and if it produces results, it's up to individual nations to decide whether to adopt it or not, we're all fucking grownups here.

>that's not how technology works
its going to be developed weather you like it or not
if you're fearful of it occuring in your own country then lobby for laws against it, if thats not possible then the world just doesnt agree with you, bad luck

>nobody put a gun to anybody head and demand that they use these tools
who do you think operates the majority of schools and who do you think decides changes that happen in these schools? "You don't like us monitoring your emotions? Well you can always decide not to participate in society", is not exactly a viable option.

>we're all fucking grownups here.
yes and some of us have learned from history

It should be a humans right violation

dude, you vote for the government, you have direct say. don't complain if the majority overrides your opinion, that's fucking democracy.

>filming people in public areas is a human rights violation

>analyzing film to determine what people is doing is a human rights violation

Just stop

we live in a republic not a democracy, and in our modern republic the populations opinion doesn't really matter when you are given the option of choosing between two people who have relatively the same goals.

you live in a democracy where the people vote through an electoral college to elect their leaders. not to mention municipal, country and other sub elections that dictate the education system.

oh lmao hes trolling

chinese are a slave race and they love to be slaves.

this would be unpractical in the west because of individualism values.

dude, the way american schools are already under surveillance and with metal detectors and 'school resource officers'. you think individualism would make this technology unpractical? the ability to identify students that are not engaged in education and being able to formulate a teaching method that can reach these children would fix so many of our current problems.

>people vote for representatives that go on to affect legal change.
That's a republic.

the west, even while degenerate, still is based around liberal ideals and christian ethics.

why are we arguing semantics? it's the same shit, you vote for which candidate you want to govern you. the point of emphasis is that the people have a vote.
oh fuck off christfag.

A spy system isn't going to make "minority" students pay attention. They don't respect you and will just blow you off as if you don't matter (you don't)
For someone who claims to be educated and is licensed in offering education to minors, you sure don't understand minors

so shoot back, wuss.

I'm not trying to argue semantics, what I'm saying is that democratic principles are not the same as actual democracy. Yes, republican government borrows the general idea of citizen rule, but it implements that idea is a completely different way. It's like saying ketchup and marinara sauce are the same thing because they're derived from the same plant.
>inb4 food analogy.

the difference is just a tiny bump. oh a constitution that limits the power of the majority? well just vote in the politicians who want to overturn that law and amend the constitution. it's the same shit with one extra step.

look the fact is, you vote for the fucker who decides to implement shit. if you don't want to use this brand new fancy system to educate students, don't fucking use it. that's life. if you fall behind that's your conscious choice and should be respected. if it puts you in a worse position? too fucking bad, that's life, some good some bad can't win them all. if China want's to try it, fuck it let them. if it works the rest of us can decide we want the rewards for the cost. that's fucking humanity and progress in a nutshell.

You have a very severe misunderstanding of how much power the population has in decisions like this.

if you don't like it, you can home school your children and or go to a private school that doesn't have it. or you can move to a state that doesn't have this system or don't vote for politicians on any level of governance that will implement this system.

you have choice, lots of them.

the alternative is what? tell China they aren't allowed to pursue this line of technology? that' we're afraid that it might be so useful that we would want to use it ourselves? humanity didn't progress but staying the same, we progressed by pushing the boundaries.

And if this technology is implemented in the work force, what are your options then?

Then work harder you baby. If they do, and they will, then go find another job. Actually I don't even know why an Jow Forums poster would worry about the work force.

choose to work in a company that uses it or not. choose to elect leaders that will ban or support this technology. the choice is the majorities. that's progress. we already have situations where cameras are banned from workplaces and shit, we adapted.

Ah yes everybody knows employees have all the power over their employers. This is turning humans into nothing but bottom lines for those with power over them. It should be a human rights violation.

>Ah yes everybody knows employees have all the power over their employers.
you literally do you troglodyte

>This is turning humans into nothing but bottom lines for those with power over them.
>This is
Are you sure user? Are you really sure?

employees have choice. nobody is forcing anybody to work. also, unions, they still exist right?

if you want it to be a human rights violation, take it up with your relevant authorities. like it or not, this type of technology will only become more advanced. some countries will reap the benefits and some won't. that's progress.

>nobody is forcing anybody to work
china literally is doing that

right. and that's China's fucking problem not mine.

its middle school
its compulsory literally everywhere

No China do not.

You realize I'm talking about forced labor camps right?

That's a minor thing, not existing in 99.999999999% of China.

what does the system do if all look same?

chinese students just cheat though

The """forced labor camps""" in China are no different than private prison institutions that force labor here.

You couldn't outsmart good AI dude.

reminder to physically block the cameras in your phones and laptops

thanks satan

Have you actually read about them? They are nothing like prison labor (which is optional although exploitative ) in the USA.

as if any more proof was needed that the chinese are completely soulless

No.
Tue soul of Chinese meta-organism is different.

should be implemented outside classrooms. i cant wait for the transhumanist future! there is no afterlife!

I wonder when the wagie wojack meme will be used for these chinese students
