In general you're gonna do shit jobs, like mopping everything, learning about military life and occasionally get to shoot your guns.
It ain't as "serious" as let's say Korea or Finland.

If you want to join the forces here, academies are the best way, although they're competitive as fuck.

i have a ton of korean friends who have bittersweet/fond memories of conscription and while i laugh with them during their stories i would never want to be part of it. im glad your experience isnt so shit though user

It really depends on where they send you as a conscript, even in careers actually.
The shittiest ones are the bases in Amazon, where they literally have to patrol in the jungle and supplies generally takes weeks to get there.
Conscripts usually stay in their bases doing shitty jobs and exercises.

Nothing much really, the most story worthy thing i have i when during the Olympics, some group of tourists wanted to go up a favela at night and i have to tell them not to, since it was dangerous, there's criminals there and bla bla bla...
Fuckers prolly wanted drugs.

Most of daily life is doing exercises at the base, fixing APCs and occasionally take the "guard command" which is i have to stay for 36 hours awake taking care of the base security.

Never, at the time they just send everyone to Rio due to WC and Olympics, since nobody wanted tourists getting killed. I don't even live in Rio.

Guard command fucking sucks, because not only you have to do your shift, you have to spend all night awake and then do your other shift next day.
Although when it happens, Fridays are holidays, so i only work 4 days a week.

if i were to travel to brazil, where would be the best places to go? i dont condemn it to be the hellish 4th world country that many others seems to but im also wary desu. id love a local's pov on how to best spend a vacation in brazil. thanks a lot man i really appreciate it

Personally i like the countryside rather than the ocean, so cities like Extrema, Campos do Jordão, Ouro Preto, Aguais de Lindoia, etc... are the best IMO.

Just avoid big cities really, they are tourist traps. Specially Rio.

I'd like to see the Grand Canyon, travel around Montana and visit Washington.

ah fuck i spent my childhood on the west coast of america and my dad took us to a bunch of dif national parks and wonders. the grand canyon and the redwoods were the only real breathtaking moments in my life, even when i was a kid and wasnt able to fully appreciate it all. highly recommend and hope you can make your way here soon user. live in maryland now and although there are a few places i need to visit on the east coast too, i feel like the west has a lot more to offer

Washington just because i wanna see all the historical stuff, Grand Canyon for the view and Montana because i always like that type of biome, plus it's empty so it ain't exactly a tourist trap.
There's also a park of fuckhuge trees that i want to visit which i forgot the name.

yeah as much as american gets shit on, we have some great national parks. im going to assume the park you are thinking of are the redwoods in sequoia. the giant redwoods there are really something else. do you have any places you would recommend in brazil with natural beauty like that?

Iguaçu falls are great tourist destination, atlhough the "Jalapão"(pic) is pretty underrated.
"Lençois Maranhenses" are also a good place to visit.

its slightly more explainable but yes. so high schoolers will be of legal age to drink but may get shut down at bars and a college kid who isnt old enough may just get an okay to drink

My favorite is Ouro Preto really, since the entire city is a museum, most of buildings are from colonial/imperial era.
