Is this folk universally considered a hero in England?
Is this folk universally considered a hero in England?
no, thatcher is
Yes? I guess? He was a wartime leader in a major war that went somewhat well, those are some easy brownie-points
Nobody considers Polk a hero in the USA
He was just the guy with the weird face
Lost us the empire for a bunch of Poles who couldn’t give a shit
Jude
Didn't even save the poles in the end. He just wanted to dismantle germany (and that's a good thing).
>Strongly anti-fascist
>Strongly anti-communist
He was based for sure.
winston the pooh
My grandmother who came from England had a book series dedicated to Churchill on her bookshelf. I guess they do.
Kill yourself.
Yeah, to the extent that there's a backlash against his popularity with people blaming him for the Bengal famine and because he was a racist like 90% of people in the early 20th century

I hate that man desu.
Unironically committed more war crimes than Hitler and got away with it
He's on a banknote, people see him as a major reason we won the war. He wasn't perfect though, and as soon as the war was over we got him out of PM position very quickly, noone wanted him there any more
Reminder that Churchill threw away lives at Gallipoli ya goons.
He's a monster to all ANZACS
I know but my grandmother is a pom.
agree desu
I've been to his crib where he learnt to despise the lower classes, it was quite impressive.
Never understood why you get upset about gallipoli specifically
no such thing as war crimes
Pretty much this, he was brilliant at politics, rallying and motivating, the leader that was needed at the time, but he was useless at government and military matters. George Washington was similar iirc.
Have you seen the lower classes in Britain? you don't need to "learn" to despise them
mate you need to understand that was like 90% of our population at the time
We kinda dislike him because he eventually sold us to the Soviets.
Still at least he tried to save us first, unlike Roosevelt.
>George Washington was bad at military matters
brown hands
against krauts*
Was he not? I vaguely remember a documentary saying he actually lost a lot of his battles, but he excelled in other things such as ambushes and motivating people to join his side. Perhaps it's someone else I'm thinking of.
