1. The Pope was always a pretty much of a figure head with zero power. He had some power over the city of Rome, but the Roman nobles often cucked him. The Holy See was like the UN, without a powerful backer the Pope couldn't do shit.
2. Catholic countries and kings regulary cucked the Pope
3. Papal infallibility was created in the late 19th century, because the Pope was butthurt at Italy. It can only be used under special circumstances and it was only used once in history about the assumption of Mary.
4. Sola Scriptura beyond retarded and the Second Great Awakening was one of the worst things that happened to the world.
5. Even European Protestants follow some traditions.

>The Pope was always a pretty much of a figure head with zero power. He had some power over the city of Rome, but the Roman nobles often cucked him. The Holy See was like the UN, without a powerful backer the Pope couldn't do shit. But that isn't true, there were times when popes were vying for power with Holy Roman Emperors, and there were also times when popes were subject to secular powers like France or the Byzantine Empire. >Papal infallibility was created in the late 19th century, because the Pope was butthurt at Italy. It can only be used under special circumstances and it was only used once in history about the assumption of Mary. It's something that always existed (it's inarguable that the pope had a position of preeminent authority, Vatican I just defined the particulars), but was only formally defined with the First Vatican Council. The Pope can define doctrine, buy can never contradict previous doctrine. There isn't a specific list of instances of papal infallibility, but things like the Assumption (which was always believed by Catholics anyways) and the Immaculate Conception (the particulars of which were debated since the Middle Ages) count.
>were vying for power with Holy Roman Emperors More like the Catholic church tried become free from Teuton rule. It's not like Pope ever had to power to rival the Emperor. It was like >please leave us alone otherwise I excommunicate you >i excommunicated you >okay I will leave you be, but I am still the boss, also take me back >okay
>It's something that always existed Proddies believe this

You said that Swedes don't celebrate St. Lucia. I posted a video of St. Lucia celebration.

Were you such an unenlightened tard as to think protestants hate tradition? Honestly you're just proving stereotypes right at this point
