Not even the vatnik russians here miss the USSR. Narva is 95% russians and is by far the poorest town in Estonia where the average wage (600 euros) is less than half of that as in rest of the country. Its a depressing shithole. Sadly the majority of estonian russians live in Narva.
A study was conducted in Narva in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea. The people were asked if they'd be willing to join Russia, how much they miss USSR and would they fight for estonia. The results where overwhelming.
Over 90% of people were not willing to join russia, less than 2% missed the ussr and almost 60% were willing to fight to stay a part of estonia. Strange, considering the town is almost all russians, is next to russia and is poor as shit. The major reason when asked was "its so much better in estonia". Not even the poorest want to live in russia.
When i was in the military i conducted national defense classes for Narva high school students. Vast majority of them could speak fluent estonian and were keen on actually learning. The volunteer national guard cell in Narva is pretty darn big
