The memes are true though, most Italian boys ( I say boys because they still sleep in their mama's bed ) live with their parents until they are about 45 years old. This is why Italian women flock to us instead, seeing that we are independent and aren't mommy's boys :^)

The fact is that people in Italy mostly prefer to own their own houses instead of renting. That's why many people save up until they have the money to buy one, while staying with their parents until they have enough money.
My uncle kinda overdid it, though. Stayed with my grandma till he was 40, then got married and bought a mansion with a farm in the countryside.

My point was that healthy relationships between people are the base for everything from human health to successful development. They need to be nurtured, but technology and capitalism are destroying them. The common folk doesn't make children, because there is no security anymore. You are born as a servant and you are constantly pressured to fit in the model. Technology is making life more and more complex, requiring longer studying and more adaptation. It is why you are a man-child on 30, while your boomer dad already had a stable job and 2 children at your age.
