True, there is only a Western, Catholic+Protestant and an Eastern Orthodox Europe. These "religions" are actually not that different at their core are just the same European Christianity. It's about all the cultural and political baggage that came along with them. This is what created the East/West divide in Europe.

actually I wouldn't be surprised if in the commie era there were more black people in some eastern European capitals than in some western ones, because commie governments invited Africans to study in their countries, quite a lot of them stayed there, especially doctors or other highly skilled specialists.

And why would you care if we want to challenge these inaccurate divisions? It's not about Eastern being shit, it's about culture and history, all of it and not only the last 70 years. You won't understand it as you are a part of the Eastern cultural sphere which we have never identified with. We were never exactly Western too, no one claims that, but I think we deserve our own label.

because it affects our economic progress (companies from all of the world are less likely to invest in a country that is associated with Russia i.e. corruption, poor infrastructure and maintenance, people addicted to alcohol), also our tourism income (tourists are afraid of being scammed, kidnapped, attacked, robbed etc. more in "Eastern Europe"). Also it makes products from here less demanded and rated worse in the world ("made in Poland" is associated with something shitty because Poland is "eastern Europe", so our companies have to use "made in EU" and suddenly the products are already bought by everyone).

Central Europe is an archaic term to describe the Austro-German sphere of influence. Eastern Europe is the Russian sphere of influence.
