Central-west, I guess what you meant by southwest, is rich, again, by agriculture, but it's stagnant because the focus is changing to the northwest.

There is no "southwest" division. The country is divided into:
North: Indians and underdevelopment. The population that produces something are mostly farmers. There is the industrial pole of the free zone of Manaus (Amazon), where there are assembling industries.
Northeast: Blacks, browns and underdevelopment. There is some progress on the coast, but the hinterland is worse than Africa, it is violent, poor and there are some places that + 50% of the population lives on social assistance.
