Northwest is getting richer because of investments in soy bean production.
Central-west, I guess what you meant by southwest, is rich, again, by agriculture, but it's stagnant because the focus is changing to the northwest.
Pic is a visual representation of growth in each region, as you can see, northwest is growing a lot.
DUDE what if planet of the apes was real?
Video?
There is no "southwest" division. The country is divided into:
North: Indians and underdevelopment. The population that produces something are mostly farmers. There is the industrial pole of the free zone of Manaus (Amazon), where there are assembling industries.
Northeast: Blacks, browns and underdevelopment. There is some progress on the coast, but the hinterland is worse than Africa, it is violent, poor and there are some places that + 50% of the population lives on social assistance.
Midwest: Pantanal and immigrants from all over the country. There are many farmer so South who sold their land in the South and came to the Midwest and North because there is a demographic void and cheap land. Majority is also farmers, but the region is a little richer than North and Northeast, and poorer than South and Southeast.
Southeast: Responsible for 80% of the country's GDP. There are industries, services and agriculture of all kinds. São Paulo is the most developed part of the country, but there are excellent cities, with excellent infrastructure in several cities in the interior of this region. Region formed by immigrants from all over the world.
South: The European part of the country. A predominantly European immigration, it is also a highly developed region on HDI issues and low violence compared to the rest of the country.
No no no.
It's easy to grow big numbers when you're small.
If your GDP $1 and you grow to $2 that's a fucking 100% growth! OH MY GOD!
Now if your GDP is $500 and you grow to $505 that's a measly 1% growth. Even though it's 5 times the growth of the $1 example.
Such cases.
Our crime is not from that, actually, it's a minority when compared to the bulk. Most murders that are happening in Brazil are gang-to-gang conflicts.
Look at this pic, left is states where violence has increased in the last ten years, right is where there are more than one gang which leads to gang wars.
It's no coincidence.
São Paulo, for example, eliminated most of its gangs. Only one gang controls the state, the PCC(Primeiro Comando da Capital).
Gang conflicts is what inflates our homicide rates.
