As for identity you're the retard if you think a persons identity consists of only one -ism. Nationality is just one aspect of a persons identity, just like their language, education, social circles, sense of belonging and cultural events which they attend. Contemporary europeans have stopped basing their identity around traditional elements and have instead started basing them around frivolous things such as consumerism, social media and personal niche interests. Those things are as good for building identity as clouds are for building walls. People have to learn to appreciate where they came from and what made europe what it is today, and christianity is one part of that heritage.
Fighting against christianity as a cultural institution is retarded and quite frankly a sign of low intelligence. And to avoid triggering brainlets: religion has no place in legalities. those should be based 100% around logical and rational rules, but culture should not. Culture is by definition irrational and anyone who thinks otherwise is most likely autistic.

Do you go into a theater and start screaming that the events unfolding in front of you are not real? Do you demand proof that the actress is really catherine the great and not just some underpaid temp? Do you demand logical proof that music really is pleasurable to listen to or that a painting which is ugly in your subjective opinion has some kind of value to someone else? No you don't because those things are cultural experiences and have nothing to do with rationality or logic.
Religion is the same thing. It is by definition irrational and based more on emotion and historical heritage than anything concrete. That's the problem most autistic r/atheism lurking belligerent degenerates have. They are incapable of differentiating a cultural, irrational and emotional phenomena from planned and deliberate societal movements, equating religion with movements such as political ideology. There is nothing to defend when it comes to religion, unless it negatively affects the general population. In this way any other cultural institution is the same. A nightclub will get shut down if they play music too loud. Again, nothing that warrants special attention. Christianity is no more or less harmless than any other cultural institution as long as they are held responsible. That's why the finnish system of having officially recognized religions working together with secular government is great. It brings an element of transparency and accountability that churches like the catholic church lack.
Discarding christianity in whatever form is relevant is discarding a part of your cultural and historical identity. I personally don't think you have to believe in the supernatural to appreciate the church as an institution. It is a continuity that has its root deep in most european cultures and it should be celebrated and appreciated. A persons personal beliefs are quite frankly irrelevant in this regard, because they affect only the person themselves.
