Of course, Jamaicans do it all the time. They know their native accent and dialect (patois) is absolutely incomprehensible to other anglophones, so they switch to a more neutral accent when talking to non-Jamaicans.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but the black people in my town speak just like anyone else. You'll see black people on TV working as presenters and stuff speaking in RP too.
