Just learned that melons are crazy expensive in Japan. Is that true anywhere else? Now I’m curious about what other every day things I take for granted.

Are those prices in usd?
Because that's crazy high, when they are in season it's like 30-35 cents for a kg of watermelon

Yeah it’s USD, they’re out of season now which is why their a little higher than normal. You can get them much cheaper in the summer, but I couldn’t tell you exactly how much.

chicken breast is $11 per kg in NZ

>30-35 cents

Kill me In here It's about 7~8 dollar

The smaller ones stay more expensive (relatively) depending on the season and where you live but during the summer we get dirt-cheap watermelon. I can get a 30lb. watermelon for $5.

10 cent/kg here

What does one even do with a 30lb watermelon?

Rate my watermelon prices haha
