Wrong. First of the south (incidentally one of the most religious areas) is the most densely populated region in Poland. Second, people in the west and north-east don't have higher average salaries than elsewhere in Poland. In fact that blob in the north-east that used to be East-Prussia has the lowest or second lowest wages in the entire country.
