It makes no sense to state the language used in one country has nothing to with the race of the people living it. Sure, it is not a solid fact, but if the local population speaks such a language it must have some correlation with its past, with its heritage at best.
I know not everyone in Switzerland is linked to Germans, but your folk lives near Germany and both of you speak the same language (accents aside). Do not deny there is not something in common but the language because it sounds silly and loathsome.

Fatty, the median salary in my city is 7900 USD a month, meaning half the people earn more than that and tax burden is lower than in the US. Switzerland is very wealthy and sure we have a lot of resident billionaires, that skews the gini a bit, but even the average middle class Swiss has a higher standard of living and more available income than all our neighbors. That's the reason they all come here for work.
