How countries can you go to where you can reasonably expect someone to speak proficient English? Most of the world. Russian? Her colonies in the East and a few diaspora in other countries. If anything one of the main factors of why so many people learn English is because so much of the rest of the world speaks English, it's a lingua franca.

I won't be particularly surprised to find an American university full of "liberals". Then, I'll go literally anywhere else in the country that isn't one of five urban shitholes and won't find a person who supports socialism, let alone communism. And then I'll look at the fact that the government still runs it all, and despite the fact that the U.S. is losing international influence in convincing most of the world to hate communism, that influence is being picked up by China, a country which is decidedly not communist.
